     With a big smile on his face, Jun rushes to the door the instant he hears the doorbell. Thankfully enough– Chris had agreed to watch over Kyo for a certain amount of– while Kyo had been out of the house, the spitz had rushed here and there, getting the surprise ready in time before the two came back.

     Hauling the door open, he greets the small child with a hug ( as well as thanking his friend for keeping him company ) before letting him down. “ You know what day it is, right ? ” The beaming smile had not disappeared ( in fact, only seemed to get bigger ), as he spoke, “ I put your surprise in your room. Go get it, bud. ”

When his dad had told him he was going to get a surprise, Kyoutani was beyond excited. It was his birthday after all and that meant gifts! At least one gift. Like at the adoption center... But he was having a good time! He got ice cream, and got to hang out with the best uncle in town! So he really didn’t mind that he was kicked out the house and how secretive his dad had been. But he was still bubbling with excitement when he got home and he hugged Jun tightly when he got the chance. 

           “Mh!”

He nods tiny hands gripping Jun’s shirt, the pup practically vibrating with the anticipation. He also noticed he liked his dad’s smile. It was so warm and comforting. A small excited gasp and he bolted towards his room, but made a u-turn to take his shoes off and put the jacket neatly to hang off a hook, and then ran off towards his room. 

There was scuffling in his room, and he stopped for a brief moment, until he heard something that sounded like a small yap. Golden eyes widen and he practically slams the door open, just to see a tiny, black and white puppy jump away from something like a red fox plush. 

Two sets of eyes stare at each other for a while and then, Kentarou squeaks out a “Puppy!!”. The pup wiggles its tail in an attempt to wag it, being almost as excited as the human child, if not more. The plush is forgotten for now, as the child runs to the dog and hugs it close. It doesn’t appreciate it too much, letting out tiny whines and wriggles to get away. Kentarou lets go of the pup when he hears his dad come up. He’s next over to Jun, hugging him tightly, beaming at him happily through his excitement.

8. Ear

     His lips hungclose to the other’s ear as they stood there; somewhere in the middle of thekitchen after dinner with Chris’ chest pressing gently against Jun’s back and his armsfirmly wrapped around his upper body. Chris wasn’t sure why these thought cameover him or why he just had to express himself like that. He naturally wasn’t veryclingy, always sort of waiting for the very blunt gestures of affections while only being very subtly showing how caring he was. Sometimes it made him wonder ifJun - or even Tetsu - ever noticed, but then again, it’s not like they evercomplained.

     “There aremore than 125 million people living in Japan”, he suddenly said, voice lowerthan usually, as if it was a secret only Jun was supposed to hear. Not thatanyone else was nearby anyway.

     His eyeslingered somewhere in the distance, not really focused on anything while hetried to explain his train of thoughts. “And still I was able to meet you.It seems like a miracle, thinking about it this way.” Just one differentdecision could’ve prevented them from ever meeting, from ever getting close; IfChris didn’t go to Seidou, if he didn’t hold onto his hope of ever recoveringfrom his injury - not to mention if he never started to play baseball -, he wouldn’t be standing at this very spot now. And he probably wouldn’t be as happy either.

The small female looked up a bit and stared at the male in front of her. He had stubble and it was enough to make her narrow her eyes a bit. He looked familiar. “I feel like I should know you....of course I don’t but...wait....you. Did you go to Seido?”
