“And who was that?”
Tammy had barely gotten a good look at the -- girl? girl -- before she had scampered off towards the castle, no doubt in a rush to get a good seat at the coronation. He had just caught them talking as he turned a corner, but by the time he got to his brother’s side, like a wisp of smoke, the girl was gone. How curious.
“Making new friends, are we? Instead of going to the coronation, I see. You’ll be terribly late now, I’m afraid.”
Tammy wrapped one arm around his brother’s, making it imperceptibly clear that the ‘you’ had turned into a ‘we’. Or perhaps it always was that way. Neither of them seemed very good at being anything other than a ‘we’.
His hair was trimmed short this morning, but he wore a pink dress, the pink dress that their mother had made especially for the occasion. Who could know that Tammy was going to be a He that day? Besides, the dress was quite beautiful, and he had no objection to wearing it. (Though he already knew there would be many objections on the matter of his hair.)
“Though, I don’t mind being just...a bit late, do you?”
