3D Printer Training for High School Robotics Club
We want to demonstrate how to use the printer to students. Possible organizations to reach out to would be high school robotics, science, physics departments, TIVA schools, boy scouts, and girl scouts. Robotics clubs would benefit surely by the addition of low-cost 3D-printing power right in their workshops. University research labs would benefit greatly from being able to easily print lab equipment and models.
We also want to establish a place where one can rent access to 3D printing software and hardware. I have encountered similar workshops, though unlike those this would initially only be for 3D printing using our extrusion technology. We believe this manner of manufacturing will be the first to be cheap enough to make it into the homes of the middle class at large (as in our case it already has :-). I believe there will be a significant market for low-end 3D printers very soon, just as there was for home office 2d ink printers.
Potentially we can raise funds on Kick-starter to buy machines for high school robotics clubs around town, providing them with training, documentation and assistance. Depending on how much we raise we can train some of our employees to help proliferate the program throughout the area. We can deliver a complete set up with a 3D printer, software, resources, and training for $2000. By the end of the experience the whole team will know how to operate the 3D extrusion machine and software, and they will own the printer and a fair amount of supplies.
