Let’s talk about
high and low visual weight
You’ve probably heard it from tik tok and you have no idea what does that mean. It’s said it is something that determines what type of make up suits you the most. But I know this under a different name which is high and low contrast in color theory. I’m checking how sharp your features can be.
To do that you must take your picture apply a black and white filter.
You can have a low contrast (low visual weight), high contrast (high visual weight) and everywhere in between.
But I know a way that is much easier for and inexperienced eye.
Open TikTok and go for filters.
Remember the filter that used to make people look like a baddie or that prince from Shrek?
That’s because if you use that filter on someone with a low visual weight (aka low contrast) it won’t fit your facial features.
I’m gonna show you comparison of two filters on my face (Bold Glamour and Bratz clear skin)
See the difference? 😏
I look like the Prince Charming from Shrek 😏😏
While the second one looks natural 😏😏😏
That means I have a low visual weight and bold makeup looks with lots of contour, eyeshadow and bold lips doesn’t suit me at all.
You’re welcome
Can you guys guess what season I am? 🤔🤔
♥️ Also I have a tip for you: using filters that slightly shrink your face are more accurate than using a front camera. That’s because the front camera creates the fish bowl effect and distorts the lines around you. Human eye sees through a 50mm camera lens (did a whole research on that myself). And yes there’s a filter on TikTok that is called a 50mm lens. You can go check it out ♥️
I could also show you why you shouldn’t pay attention to your hair and how much it’s color can change how you look 🤭
