Hydro Electric Streetcar - High Memory
After the first listen of my first thought was, "A lost Grateful Dead track!!" It's that perfect Sunday morning reading the paper type of track. Maxin' and relaxin' celebrating the fact you're alive by basking in that sliver of sun that comes through the living room window.
This comes off The Cool Aid Benefit Album which was re-released by Light in the Attic just within in the last couple weeks. It was a benefit album for the house in Vancouver that was a home for Hippies and homeless youth during the 60s and early 70s; it was known to locals as "the Cool Aid House." This was for a while funded by the Canadian government but once they withdrew their funding the house's residents former and current went all DIY and put together this album. Full of weirdo sounds, garage, folk and various formations of rock.
