Oh hi!! I didn’t think I’d catch anyone here who knew about it/still played it! In the OsoFandom no less! Lol That’s amazing!

YEAH it is really sad it’s popularity died out but I’m super glad it hasn’t been taken down. I remember having to wait in the queue for players’ sessions to expire to even get on a server lmao I have sooooo many fond memories of it I keep coming back (and this time I’ll be staying).I’m still too “new and poor” to be on the other servers so I’m here on Black where the economy is small. I used to be on Palomino in 2007 and stopped playing for some years. I can’t believe it’s been ten years already.

Start out by talking to Kevin on Lilac Isle. He’ll tell you the story of what happened to his aunt Bailey’s boat and question you if you had been Nonesuch and Hotzeplotz Isle. He’ll then ask you to search the shorelines for the ship pieces.

Go NE and search with binoculars here.

Take it back to Kevin. He’ll tell you to ask Bailey about the currents. Talk to Bailey. She will tell you she knows nothing much about the currents and suggests talking to the Shellton dockmaster. 

There’re two main currents amongst all these here small isles.  One comes in from the south, around the Lava Isles. T'other one, that comes in from the nor'east, round both sides of Whorl Isle.  Y'got that?

The current what comes from the south side of Whorl divides, y'see, when it hits Hotzeplotz.  That’s why there’s this huge whirlpool between Hotzeplotz and Whorl.

    The northern branch of that current, now that hits that whirlpool area, and gets deflected through the strait between Hotzeplotz and Eldorado.  Now there’s a nasty passage in a storm, I can tell you!

Now that current goes up the east side of Bone, y'see, an’ splits at the north end.  Some goes north of Atropos, and the rest goes whirling clockwise around Paradise.  Ever'thing north of Gavin’s island just goes northwest, foll'in’ Saddle’s coast, ‘cept one bit what goes east 'round where they say the 'girth’ of the island is.

Well, that there’s a much more powerful current!  Just shoots everything north around the whole area between here and Nonesuch.  Lots and lots of eddies, too, especially between Lilac and Rock and between Haven and Serenity.  But the worst of the eddies are between Haven and Crescent.  If you’ve got any brains at all, you don’t take no boat out there!  It’s just insane.

  Everything else just sort of flows north and west like it gave up trying to decide what to do and is just trying to escape.  Oh, and there’s a pretty rough area between Loch and Hotzeplotz that’s worth avoiding, if you ask me.

Oh, ho!  That depends, d'y'see!  Depends if the tide’s a-comin’ or a-goin’ don’t it?   An’ I’ll tell you this, wherever the current is fast, or where there’s a whirlpool like east of Hotzeplotz, you won’t find nothin’ unless there’s been a storm.  

Anywhere the currents slow or make a sharp turn, that’s a start.  An’ I heard about a shipwreck on Haven a while back.  Crazy Eddie’s place sometimes has stuff washed up.  Ask the islanders, they’ll know.

Start with Crazy Eddie’s Isle. Rake just above the palm tree.

Next is the Neverending Isles. Take Falcor to the 2nd Neverending Isle. Rake.

Gavin’s Island is next. Ask him if there is anything “more” and get sent to Quiet Isle. Rake.

Last is Hotzeplotz. I had a unipeg for this but you’ll need to talk to Grey Slate if you don’t have one to get there. If you completed his quests, bring him his  lunch from Remy Beeleful, the innkeeper on Art Isle and he’ll send you to the isle. Rake.

I had to do this quest TWICE but in the middle of doing it the second time, I realized I didn’t have the Cloud isle items so I had to finish the rest based off memory and the help of buddies who hadn’t finished the quest yet.

REQUIRED: Complete Kier’s Dream (17 peacock feathers), The Shipwrecked Sailor, and Murigal's Missing Gemstones.

Talk to Kier, the bird in the Appleton Water Tower. He will tell you he heard a loud noise and gives you a “riddle” to find it. 

“With my new feathers, I think I am, newly beautiful, flitting about, I was, well, as proud, peacocking about. You see, right? These feathers, mustn't waste, so much beauty, I think, such a shame, to soar and swoop, see me shine! But as I flew, and flutter, I did, perchance, above a cotton patch, a horrid noise, I heard.”

Go just northwest of Sunshine Meadows in the large cotton patch and find Murigal. Murigal is the frog from the Ring Isle quest.

She is locked in a cage. She tells you a wicked witch locked her in here and there isn’t a key to get her out. You offer to help her and Murigal tells you to talk to the fairies in the bushes.

There is three fairies that wander in each bush. Speak to Gnetta. She complains about Murigal being too loud and once you speak to her more, she tells you find Draculetta. Speak to her again and she tells you there is a black widow on one of the desert isles that knows more information. You can speak to Elvira but if she isn’t there, go to the next step.

Go to the bleached skull just north of Santon where Elvira lives. She’ll tell you here sister lives on some small isle southwest of her. This is Yellow Brick Isle. Go to the bleached skull and speak to Draculetta. 

Draculetta tells you the “wicked witch” wanders around the cactus west of her. Operation Find The Wicked Witch is a go!

Turns out, the wicked witch is a toad. Speak to her. BE CAREFUL. If you vex her, she’ll send you to the bottom of the 3rd Sand Isle and unless you can warp, you won’t have fun getting back to Yellow Brick. Elphiblah tells you she’ll help you if you help her. You agree.

She goes on to tell you she wants to make a Love Potion #9. She’ll tell you a list of ingediants, DO NOT ASK FOR A LIST.

1 Moonbeam, 1 Silver Lining, 1 Obsidian Chunk, 1 Pumice Stone, 1 Pixie Dust, 1 4 Leaf Clover, 1 Wishing Coin and 1 Bunch of Flies.

Take them back to her and she’ll give you a spray. She’ll tell you to take to a frog (Charles) and that she send him to an isle with lots of water. Go to Loch Isle and find Charles in a pond. Spray the potion on him then take it to Murigal.

Murigal tells you it doesn’t work and so back to Elphiblah. The wicked witch will tell you basically that you’re greedy and you helped yourself and not her. You’ll ask what she needs *politely and she’ll tell you to find her gemstones. Go back to Murigal and she’ll tell you, in a crying mess (and making no sense) where she put them.

Take them back to Elphiblah. She’ll give you a wooden key. Go to Murigal and unlock the cage. She’ll poof away and leave you without a reward. Go to  Gnetta and ask for one. She’ll give you 25 honeycombs and some diamonds.

She’ll tell you to find Murigal. Go back to Loch Isle and go to the pond directly south of Sam McGee’s house. 

HI1 - 1800-luku / The 19th century Imperialismi / Imperialism

Ranskan suuren vallankumouksen (1789) jälkeen kesti kymmenisen vuotta, ennen kuin väkivaltaisuudet ranskassa ja sotatoimet sen naapurimaissa loppuivat. Muut maat tahtoivat palauttaa kuninkaan valtaan, Ranska tahtoi pitää ne poissa mailtaan. Kaiken keskellä valtaan nousi korsikalainen Napoléon Bonaparte,  Ranskan ensimmäisenä konsulina vuonna 1799. Pian hän kruunasi itsensä keisariksi. Muutamassa vuodessa lähes koko Eurooppa oli hänen valtapiiriään Ranskan hallinnon hyväksyneinä satelliittivaltioina huolimatta siitä, että moni hallitsija piti Napoleonia nousukkaana. Hän ei tietyltä kannalta ollut pahaksi vallankumoukselle - uskonnonvapaus ja tasavertaisuus lain edessä kirjattiin perustuslakiin, mutta toisaalta hän oli itsevaltias ja tahtoi mm. palauttaa orjuuden ja siirtomaavallan Haitilla. Isoa-Britanniaa Napoleon ei onnistunut alistamaan tahtoonsa. Niinpä hän pakotti liittolaisensa mannermaasulkuun, joka oli kauppasaarto Iso-Britannian nujertamiseksi. Ruotsin kuningas Kustaa IV Aadolf ei suostunut, sillä hän ei pitänyt Napoleonista, eikä tahtonut tuhota Ruotsin ulkomaankauppaa täysin, joten Napoleon pisti Venäjän tsaari Aleksanteri I:n hyökkäämään Ruotsiin. Suomen sota johti Suomen siirtymiseen Ruotsilta Venäjälle, ja monet muut sodat järkyttivät Eurooppaa. Napoleon hyökkäsi lopulta myös Venäjälle, mutta taistelu oli tuhoisa, ja vuonna 1814 ja hänet syöstiin vallasta ja karkotettiin Euroopasta.

HI5, HI1, HI2 - Tiivistelmä 1700-luvusta A summary of the 18th century

1700-luku on ensisijaisesti vallankumousten vuosisata - niin poliittisten kuin kulttuurillisten. Sitä leimaavat valistusajattelu ja teollistuminen. Ruotsissa 1700-luku on säätyvallan ja kuningas Kustaa III:n hallinon jakama ajanjakso.

Teollinen vallankumous käynnistyi Iso-Britanniassa, missä nopea väestönkasvu, helposti louhittava hiili ja kasvava tekstiiliteollisuus ruokkivat toisiaan. Valistusfilosofia kannusti tieteen tekemiseen ja uusiin keksintöihin, ja kutomakone sekä kehruujenny mullistivat tekstiiliteollisuuden täysin. Aluksi tehtaan koneita pyöritettiin vanhojen myllyjen tapaan vesivoimalla, mutta sitten keksittiin höyrykone. Tehtaan ei tarvinnut enää sijaita veden äärellä. Hiili oli Englannissa halpaa, joten höyrykone otettiin nopeasti käyttöön, ja jo ennestään siirtomaittensa avulla vaurastuneella Isolla-Britannialla oli etulyöntiasema kangaskaupassa muihin Euroopan maihin nähden.

John Locke kirjoitti liberalistisia ja valistuneita ajatuksiaan jo 1600-luvun lopussa. Valistusajattelun keskeisiin pyrkimyksiin kuuluivat mm. “luonnolliset oikeudet” eli synnynnäinen tasa-arvo ja oikeus omaisuuteen, elämään ja vapauteen. Käytännössä niitä ei noudatettu, ja tasa-arvo koski lähinnä varakkaita miehiä, mutta se oli askel eteenpäin. Vallan kolmijako-oppi, uskonnonvapaus, ja ajatus siitä, että hallinto perustui kansan suosioon mullistivat hiljalleen ajatuksia siitä, kuinka yhteiskunnan tulee toimia. Tunnetuimpia valistuskirjailijoita ovat Montesquieu, Rousseau ja Voltaire, sekä naisten asioita ajanut Wollstonecraft. Valistusajatukset levisivät kahviloissa, lehdissä, kirjoissa ja lentolehtisinä. 1700-luvulla alkoi syntyä hyvätuloinen keskiluokka, jolla aatelittomuudestaan huolimatta alkoi olla varaa opiskeluun ja pieniin ylellisyyksiin. Myös Ruotsissa valistusajattelu vaikutti säätyvallan toimintaan ja kustavilaiseen politiikkaan. Yhdysvaltain itsenäisyysjulistukseen on kirjattu monia valistusaatteita, joiden mukaan uutta valtiota oli tarkoitus johtaa.

Teollisen vallankumouksen lisäksi liberaali valistusajattelu johti myös konkreettisiin vallankumouksiin ja poliittiseen kuohuntaan. Amerikan Yhdysvallat julistautui itsenäiseksi vuonna 1776 Iso-Britannian siirtokuntavallasta. Kymmenisen vuotta myöhemmin käynnistyi myös Ranskan suuri vallankumous, joka kesti 1780-luvulta 1790-luvulle. Yksinvaltias kuningas syrjäytettiin vapauden, veljeyden ja tasa-arvon nimissä, mutta väliaikainen kansalaishallitus syyllistyi aikanaan myös valtaviin julmuuksiin, ja Ranskan suuri vallankumous on verinen - ei pelkästään giljotiinin ansiosta, vaan myös sotaretkien. Aluksi uskottiin, että Yhdysvallat auttaisi vallankumouksellisia ystäviään, mutta se jättäytyi lopulta ulos Euroopan politiikasta. Vallankumousajattelun levittämiseen sotimalla osallistui mm. myös nuori Napoleon Bonaparte, joka astui Ranskan ensimmäiseksi konsuliksi vuonna 1799. Myöhemmin hänestä kruunattiin keisari.

Ruotsin valtakunnassa yksinvaltiuteen kyllästyneet säädyt siirtyivät vapauden aikaan, eli vapauteen kuninkaan määräysvallasta. Säätyvallan ajalla syntyi poliittinen koneisto, jota johtivat säännöllisiksi muuttuvien säätyvaltiopäivien merkkimiehet, esimerkiksi vuosisadan alkupuolella suomalaissyntyinen Arvid Horn. Hornin politiikka oli rauhanomaista, ja hänen aikanaan maata jälleenrakennettiin ja idänsuhteita kohennettiin Suuren Pohjan sodan jäljiltä. Monet nuoret aatelismiehet, jotka haikailivat suurvalta-ajan palauttamisesta, asettuivat kuitenkin vastustamaan Hornia ja tämän kannattajia ja kutsuivat heitä myssyiksi. Vastaavasti vastapuoli sai nimekseen hatut, ja Ruotsin ensimmäiset puolueet syntyivät. 1700-luvun puolivälissä hatut syrjäyttivät Hornin myssyhallituksinen, ja julistivat lähes saman tien sodan Venäjää vastaan. Hattujen sota oli fiasko ja johti pikkuvihaan, Suomen toiseen venäläismiehitykseen vuosisadan sisällä. Rauhansopimuksen jälkeen itärajan turvaksi ryhdyttiin rakentamaan Svartholmaa ja Viaporia.

Toisen puolen 1700-luvusta määrittelee vallan takaisin kaapannut, valistuskasvatuksen saanut, kulturelli kuningas Kustaa III. Hänen rokokoohovinsa oli tietyssä mielessä valistuneen itsevaltiuden edustaja, mutta myös merkantilistinen, ja hän onnistui aiheuttamaan upseerikapinan, joka johti Liikkalan noottiin ja Anjalan liittoon kesken sotaretken. Myöhemmin tyytymättömyys kulminoitui Kustaa III:n salamurhaan oopperajuhlissa.
