Did you know that 13 years before the 2006 debut of Blu-ray and HD-DVD (remember that format?), you could buy movies in HD and on a disc? One of my favorite YouTubers, Techmoan, does a history and overview of the short-lived Hi-Vision LaserDisc format that was only available in Japan from 1993 to 1997. It used an analog/digital broadcast format called Hi-Vision that employed an early video compression format called MUSE.
