the light of a candle flickers gently and steadily within its small glass --- set on a table of freshly pressed white linen. dimmed lights, cushioned set. red velvet. the crimson turns the crime lord's stomach. but he needs to keep his appetite, so he simply glances towards who is seated across of him --- monsieur beauchamp, who brought his own glimmer to whichever occasion suited his taste.
champagne lips, catching the warmth of the candle's light. crushed diamonds, saccharine enough to intoxicate any of the crime lord's ill moods. the black cashmere shawl slips from his shoulders, before julien slightly bends closer towards the crime lord --- clearly captured by an intrigue, he would refuse to let go for the rest of the night. muted chatter surrounds them --- a fully booked friday night at pierre gagnaire. tony itches for a cigarette. an unfamiliar table across the room must have thrown a dozen of stares at him by now --- the crime lord clicks his tongue, drowning the pacing restlessness at once. julien hums the way he does, when his questions are genuinely curious --- and tony would have laughed, scoffed or huffed --- had he not his own pre-scheduled mood to follow. the blonde must have smelled the anomaly already --- despite it being not out of the ordinary for them at all to dine out. it is tony's brooding silence and dissolving patience --- at the natural tension weaving them into a net. the way he chose a specific perfume, subtly lingering upon his skin.
' so. what did you want to discuss ? ' a waiter gracefully grazes their table, refills their wine glasses and disappears --- their dessert yet to arrive. tony leans forward, elbow propped on the table, his chin resting upon his knuckles. darting up and down julien's countenance --- the soft curve of his eyes, the spark of something darker buried --- patiently simmering beneath. the hint of a smile, shaping gloss-coated lips. tony's gifted necklace dangling from their lithe neck. it's distracting. in the worst possible way it could be. so the crime lord blinks, once, twice, as if in an attempt to reset his system. clearing his throat quietly, gaze settling on julien's eyes ultimately. " i got you a gift. a surprise. " his flat palm glides into his suit jacket, before he places a white envelope in the middle of the table. julien inspects the blank envelope, turning it once as tony remains in his quietude, observing the other in his own curious indulgence. until . . . " have you ever been to polynesia ? "
