How do you think they'll even go about book two? Like any ~fan predictions~? With Amon and Tarrlock completely gone, Korra just kinda getting her bending back with no effort (though I agree with you, seeing her in the avatar state was a moment of UGH FINALLY) how do you think they'll try to take it? It's clear the writers do know how to write! My friend pointed out they took a character that people felt bitter towards, Tarrlock, and made him someone that everyone was taken back by. BUT ROMANCE..
i think one of the main problems with season 1 as a lot of people have pointed out was that it was made at least initially under the pretenses that it was going to be a standalone miniseries, but when the green light was given for a second season that made the writers want to add more relationship dynamics that ended up really screwing with the pacing of the season, which was supposed to be self contained and to a large extant still was
BECAUSE OF THAT you get two possibilities, a return to the original plot (avatar v. equalists) or some WHOLE NEW FIGHT, but i think the second part is unlikely because it'd diminish the gravity of the equalist threat and avatar korra's trials and tribulations to just a one part sideshow and i think by the very nature of having a second season lok is going to try to move beyond that
and while a lot of things DID get answered by this first season, a lot is still left unanswered, like the state of the equalist threat, korra's airbending prowess, and SIGH even relationships in general, though at this rate it looks like mako/korra is a sad and inconvenient truth
i would predict that probending will make a comeback (The writers and animators clearly have too much fun with that to let it go), we'll get to see more development out of asami and bolin and MAYBE mako, the equalists will probably be central to the second season conflict, albeit in a new or subdued way, and korra will finally start being really pushed as an avatar
ALSO i think we'll see the old cast in various contexts, the mere inclusion of general iroh is to me evidence that the creators are dying to elaborate further on the fate of the old characters
whatever the case, lok's got a whole toybox of potential plots and dynamics to use, what matters now is whether they're going to get their shit together and use them right

i read them in your voice after seeing you stream makin comics a couple of times!! it's funny though you have such a gentle voice and so sometimes your really serious opinions post, i know they would sound different irl because you know different emotions = different tones but since i've only heard one tone i can only read it in the one.
