ROE is the nom de guerre of 19-year-old Roisin Donald of Derry, Northern Ireland. Her self described “grumpy electro-pop” has honesty in abundance with battle hardened lyrics of life experience and instrumental finesse.

Garnering support from Help Musicians NI, ROE during her thus far short career has made strides into the fore, one of the many highlights being her performance on the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, all while releasing her music independently via hometown label Fictive Kin Records. Her previous track Wasted.Patient.Thinking. was a firm display of her appeal with 13,000 streams on Spotify on it’s day of release - now sitting at 63,000 streams, appearing on ‘New Music Friday’ in Germany, Indonesia and Switzerland. It was also playlisted on almost every major radio outlet in Ireland: RTE2FM, TodayFM, CoolFM just to name a few.

Hey Thomas is an empowering dish served electro pop. A message of rising above the judgment of being different - graced by her nimble voice with it’s cleansing irish flavour, all laid atop a modern instrumental driven by bouncing synths and funky guitars.

Speaking on the strong message of the new single ROE explains “Hey Thomas is a call out to bullies everywhere. I wrote this song for anyone who has ever been picked on, pushed around, teased or made to feel small because they look or act or dress differently to what’s  labelled as normal. You should be able to do what makes you feel good without feeling self-conscious because of other people’s small-minded judgements. Their opinions don’t matter, and as long as you’re happy then who cares what they think.”
