HC + grooming
The first thing Nick had to relearn when he lost the use of his eye was shaving. Up close perception was way off at that point and he hadnāt learned to adjust yet. It was... frustrating to say the least. It also lead to a full beard that lasted a couple months while he worked on some less personal vision issues. As he figured out the differences, the beard slowly shrunk. When he hit the goatee stage, he decided he liked it and it stayed put.
Re: sociable or isolated, is his social persona all an act or is it just easier to be social when it's not serious for him?
A lot of it is an act - Tonyās more showman than business man.Ā
Now, thatās not to say he doesnāt understand business, because he does; SI wouldāve tanked by now if that was case. But that bullshitting was a second language to him.Ā
When heās in a room, the attention is on him, regardless if he plays up to it or not and the only bit of control Tonyās got over that is to throw himself into it and own what he chooses them to see. Theyāll run stories about him no matter what, but if he can expect what those stories are going to be, because heād spent the night spoon feeding them, then all the better.Ā
Thereās expectations of Tony Stark - to be loud, to smile and flirt, to fill the room up until thereās nothing left for himself and honestly?Ā
Itās fucking exhausting.Ā
When he gets to pick who heās around, and obviously theyāre people he likes and trusts, sure, heās a sociable fucker. Itās different then. His jokes arenāt for show, he doesnāt have anyone to play up to, he can just be himself and expect no repercussions from it.Ā
But at the heart of it? Heās isolated. How are you meant to know if someone is talking to you because they actually want to or if theyāre after a quick fuck or buck? As for his peers? God, theyāre all assholes, why the fuck would he want anything to do with them?
Really, without his money, heās just the nerdy little kid who liked to read and play with circuit breakers. Heās more comfortable in his own company, even if he doesnāt particularly like himself, than in a room crammed with people.Ā
ā :Minor personality flaw or quirk
Sometimes after a run, he drinks the orange juice right from the bottle. It worked when he was living alone, but not so much when he had guests staying with him. He got much better at it when Steve was living with him, but he still occasionally relapses and ends up drinking right out of the bottle when his mind is elsewhere.
Caged Birds Canāt Fly || Sam & Wanda
Location: The Underground Safe House Date: June 22nd 2015 Time: 8:15 AM EST
San Wilson would be lying if he said he was enjoying any moment of this. They had only been underground for a day, but already he was starting to get antsy. He supposed he couldnāt complain however, no doubt Redwing was feeling cooped up as well. The falcon had a bed in Samās room to curl up in, but Sam knew it couldnāt replace an actual nest, Before he had nested in the tree outside Samās bedroom window but now...now Sam didnāt know where he could let him go. It wasnāt like Redwing was a bird native to the states. . People would notice. They were under a bridge, perhaps he could take him outside and let him nest up there...that was a topic for another day however. They needed to get settled where they were.
He was used to taking a run this time of the morning. That would be something he would have to get used to missing. At least this safe house had a gym, he thought. And so instead of a morning jog, he had done a morning workout. It gave him some time to think the situation over. Even if he wasnāt in a safehouse, he wouldnāt like this one bit. He believed that a superhero who caused damage in a fight should fix that damage and that if anyone got hurt because of them they should own up to it and help that person every way they could. But this new registration act? He couldnāt sit by and accept that. Something about being forced to register just didnāt sit right with him.Ā
He let Redwing fly over to a chair at the table. He would have to let the falcon out so he could hunt soon. He couldnāt let his friend starve. He went over to the cupboards, going to get a bowl and a pan. Grabbing some eggs and bacon, he began to prepare a breakfast.Ā āDonāt worry, buddy. Iāll talk to Steve and weāll see about letting you out to fly later or tomorrow, alright? You have to stay low, though. We donāt want anyone to see you. Itās safer this wayā He said, chatting to his friend like he was any other person. With his back to the door, he wouldnāt notice anyone coming in either.

ā« :Pet peeve
Crooked ties. It takes everything in him not to just grab them and fix them but clearly that is a violation of personal space so he only does it if heās comfortable around someone.
āŖ :Critique they have about others
People are stupid.Ā
And he doesnāt just mean that they canāt learnĀ thermonuclear astrophysics in an evening - he means common sense too.Ā
People just donāt think.Ā
They let themselves get swept up with whatever online newspaper is their favorite and then thatās it - out the window goes original thought.Ā
They canāt see the big picture for all the little ones and it annoys Tony, who prides himself on being at least five steps ahead of anyone else, that people are far too comfortable with ignorance and stupidity.Ā
How hard is it to just think?
