Well, I just so happen to have a theory on what one secret is.
So since joining this fandom I learned that everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING is a Greek God reference. Not one character isn’t named after a Greek God or God in general, hell even the nicknames! (except Zephyr but, Zephyros so we let it slide) I found out SETH is a God name! I didn’t know that! One of my exes was name Seth he was an asshole, not a God the fuck! I even had an OC named Jason, went to find a God name to change it to and SURPRISE! Jason is a God’s name! Even stupid names I never heard of like Boreas?? Aristaeus?? Nah. *Googles* Oh shit, Gods? Really? But Hex, after doing some research I have found nothing in mythology relating to being named Hex. So my theory is that Hex isn’t his real name, and for good reason. Think about it.
He protects Grimhaven, right? He helps out the tronic boys, right? BUT HE WORKS FOR EMBERGUARD! “But Cas he wants to drink on the job and the tronic boys are his friends.”
OH REALLY THEN WHY DOES HE ACT LIKE HE CAN’T STAND THEM? HMMMMMMMM???? Exactly, I think he understands what it’s like to be a criminal, which is why he goes by a fake name; because he’s a FUCKIN CRIMINAL DUN DUNNNN!!! And it could explain why he’s too scared to be like “Seris is more than a satyr friend I love him *gay noises” and NO it’s not bc of his pride like he says IT’S BC HE’S A FUCKIN FAKE! Oh, and also guess what~?

tl;dr Hex isn’t his real name and he’s not a real bat he’s in disguise as an Emberguard guy because he’s actually a wanted criminal which is why he helps Grimhaven and the tronic boys.
