#hex keys #way less of an annoying Thing now that i know what i need to do and it's very straightforward #i was trying to remove the wrong thing lol #mypost #of course i still need to do a bunch of shit to set up the replacememt bed #and there's one thing i need to figure out how to pack #but everything else except little odds and ends i'll have to finish at the last minute + physically loading it into the truck should be done #there's the components of the bed to take down which shouldn't be hard once i take it apart #+ 1 dresser that i'll need help to get down the stairs #i've already been helped with that last bookcase #everything else is ready to go #there is one more mystery which is that i have a fuckton of tools i revieved but i can't find a fucking phillips head screwdriver.#i can find so so many things that are not that.#i know i had one but don't know where it would have gone since i didn't really Pack any of the tools -#they're either in use or i have a little chest thing for them #so that's slightly bizarre #oh. and i wanted to measure the furniture so i could get an ides if placement before taking it in #at least i know where the measuring tape is

As part of buying new office chair, I also then had to assemble the chair, which was all well and good until it came to the included hex key - the black one. Like, what is the point of having a hex key with almost similar arm lengths? If I were assembling certain ikea furniture it may not have been as irritating but this chair specifically had hard to reach bolts (as shown in the other pic) that having a shorter arm would have solved! I ended up using my own set of keys to finish the job. Why bother including a hex key that couldn't be used to actually assemble the thing it's included with?

Not to mention that all the bolts were alongside a wall and so the longer arms of the hex key caused me to bolt it in at 180 degree turns but once I used my own key then the short arm didn't interfere.

Like, this key went so far into being frustrating and useless that it almost went directly into hilarity. I mean, I did end up laughing in a sort of disbelief at it. I'm guessing I would not have found it as amusing if I didn't have my own set of hex keys.
