Netflix really said nope too much representation for you and cancelled the society, i am not okay with this, one day at a time, everything sucks, Anne with an E, and countless other things in favour of keeping toxic tv shows with terrible representation like Riverdale and 13 reasons why. Society is here only to serve the hets and the skinnys.

It's truly shamefull that great shows get cancelled just because they don't fit in with "big blockbusters". Besides heterocentric shows and movies being pushed, mainstream media feels like it exists soley for men. Of course everyone enjoys them, but try to make a female led product as popular as a male lead one.
And then there are people saying things like "the LGBT fanbase is such a small percentage" or "men wouldn't want to watch a movie with just women". First of all, the LGBT fanbase is much bigger, than some (usually cishet) people might think. There is a reason our community tries to cope with indulging in fiction.
Second: men not wanting to watch a movie with a female cast is the problem. They don't have to adapt like we do, BECAUSE they already have movies, with which they can relate and identify with.

I’m 25 and TBH is the first show in a long while that I felt accurately portrays 1. the struggle (April) and 2. the acceptance (Sterling) of coming to terms with the fact you’re not straight. I hope I don’t get lambasted for this [it’s just my opinion!] but the last show I felt portrayed it this well was Alex’s journey in S2 of Supergirl.
I don’t hate any of the shows that have survived - it’s a tough time for the arts. However Netflix must recognise it’s culling diverse shows. Whether that be shows with lgbt rep, or characters of colour. Or both! The fact that they’re just today hyping up 20 years of Gilmore Girls is enraging. Everyone already knows about Gilmore Girls! About Friends! How about some new content?

I haven’t seen Blonde yet, I probably will. But going from early reviews, I get the sense that while the novel was great translating it into a movie wasn’t the best idea.
It’s one thing to read something on page.
Another thing to see it played out live on-screen.
More grotesque, perhaps?
A book leaves it up to the imagination, at least.
