So instead of wondering why there isn’t a straight pride movement, be thankful you don’t need one.” To help frame it more clearly, I ask heterosexuals: While in public can you and your partner: hold hands, kiss, cuddle, touch, go on a romantic date, speak intimately, express love/commitment, and sit closely entwined all without much fear of verbal or physical assault? That is #HeterosexualPrivilege - enjoy it. Most queer folks can’t do those things without fear except during rallies and pride parades where our sheer numbers protect us. People think that queer people have “ #gaydar ” - truth is, yes we do.
