@racetrac our supervisor @hesscoroadside just reported 5 minutes ago that he pulled in to get fuel from the racetrack. The pumps are down so you cannot get super or premium from them. He went inside to see if we could purchase some other items. The supervisor noticed that the @racetrac cashier was not wearing gloves & not wearing any face mask protection whatsoever. He asked him if he "gave them gloves would they wear them". The cashier said they "had gloves" and that he "was sorry, he forgot to put them back on". He explained that he took the gloves off to restock shelves. Our supervisor explained it is so important to be wearing gloves while they're stocking because this virus can live on surfaces for 2 hours up to nine days. It is like these huge companies are not even attempting to try and help stop this virus. We all have to pull together and do what is necessary even though it's uncomfortable. Trust us we understand that when you wear these gloves your hands sweat, it's nasty, it's a pain in the butt. But we have to do it. We would like to offer a ride to anyone that needs to make a trip to your local food bank. You do not need to be one of our Roadside Assistance members. There are restrictions that apply and it is first come first served, contingent on availability. We do ask that you or members of your household are not COVID-19 Coronavirus symptomatic. You must call 904-327-9599 at least 48 hours in advance to schedule your ride to a local food bank to your residence. We know this isn't much but it's all we can do. We will go as long as we can until the money runs out and PPE gear like face masks and gloves are all used up.
