Polychaete of the day is Leocratides kimuraorum. These silly looking things can produce a sound of 157 decibels - aka REALLY LOUD, especially for an animal assumed to be silent. They do this when they fight! You can watch a short YouTube video of it here. The way they move reminds me of tardigrades.

Happy new year everyone! Today's worm is the really cool Sirsoe methanicola. They live in deep sea methane deposits (where methane gets trapped within water molecules to make something kind of like ice) and can go 96 hours without oxygen
