Wow, for that last anon: I always thought I was the only one who felt that way. I always wondered why we have a leap year. Why is it that we can't divide the days evenly? I always wondered that, what if this whole time out equations have been off. And everything we've learned is incorrect. It's crazy when you reeealllyyy think about it.
Mm, agreed. I think most of our concept of time is imagined. Our calendar was created long ago, before we had developed most of our concepts about the world or had the instruments to observe how it worked, which is partly why the calendars a bit off.
As for the leap year thing, non leap years aren't actually 365 days, they're 365 + 1/4. We ignore that 1/4 most of the time but every four years that 1/4 becomes one whole day, thus Leap Day^^
