Her Revolution by Caroline Cavendish is a Sci-Fi novel. It centers around an 11 year old named Innocence. She is a genetically created child in this future world. Innocence is also the leader of the Republics army, which is composed of all kids from the ages of 6 to about 12. The story tells of her going on campaign and trying to squash rebellions that have been uprising that threaten her Republic.

I thought this book was awful. So much of the book did not make sense. There was a prologue in this book that had nothing to do with the book at all and just seemed to focus around a sexual exploit the author had. It was very confusing and didn't seem to be necessary. Next I have an issue with the ages of the characters in this book. I like stories that have a prodigal main character thats younger that is going to go on and lead but the characters in this book are ridiculous. Innocence starts leading the army at 6 years old creating complex military stratagems and all various other sorts of complex ideas that children of that age can't even begin to comprehend. Innocence is supposed to be 11 and has done so many things for a republic just seems unbelievable. This also makes the story really hard to get into. Next point of issue is the technology. The author talks about how these people have all this advanced technology, to include weapons that will literally turn armies into dust, yet everyone still carries a smart phone with them. The flow of technology just seems wrong. My last main issue with this book is the authors use of music. Music is supposed to be outlawed in this world, but Innocence has some device that she can listen to music on. The author then lists the names of the songs that she is listening to. The author chooses music from when I was a kid that this 11 year old in the very far away future would be listening to. It just seems unbelievable that for starters anyone would still have any of those songs still on a device thats playable and two that she wouldn't of chosen music from a more recent time period. I would only give this book a 1/5. I had too many issues with this book for it to be any good.
