IF NOT CAROLINA HERRERA, THEN WHO?

It’s New York Fashion week and my Instagram page is filled with designs, fashion outfits and the fashion buzz that is fashion week.

The anticipation of #HerreraLive has been brewing especially because they keep counting down and I’m getting so impatient. So they have this thing right where they post fabrics and a bit of their pieces and you just want them to reveal the whole collection already! I’m waiting…I’ve been waiting…and I’m still waiting. Guuuuuuys, the suspense is killing me!

For those who don’t know, Carolina Herrera is my fashion G-d. She has been and always will be the classiest lady I have every seen in a crisp white shirt and a black skirt (followed by Victoria Beckham - gurl, I ain’t forgetting you like that, I'd never do you dirty). See, it takes experience and personal style to pull off being Carolina and I admire that about her.

People always ask me why her? Can I even relate to her cause she’s so old?. My answer is always simple. She oozes class and she is such a lady. See the thing is, I’ve always had a vision of how my different stages in life will be in terms of style. I have my non-mom fashion, I’ve thought of my mommy style and how I would like to dress when I age and - without kidnapping her style - there is a resemblance.

So I’m proud of myself. Even though I have not purchased an item yet…I have started my CH collection, and because we start small - it’s perfume. It’s my winter perfume (will be doing a review soon) , and I stay true to my fragrances and smells. I absolutely loved the richness of the smell and I regard this perfume as my winter perfume. It’s strong and just the right amount of rich. Try yourselves out guys, and if it doesn’t do it for you, that’s also okay.

Those who know me know how much I adore Carolina Herrera. Her consistency is admirable and her hard work and quality of work will be the reason she remains my all time favourite fashion designer. Does she ever get it wrong? In my books, hell no - was that a bias response? Hell no.

Ps: Happy #35yearsoffashion CH. This is an achievement and it’s absolutely something I look forward to for the years to come. The craftsmanship of your items down to your ball gowns is absolutely amazing. One day, and I say this because I’m speaking it to existence, one day - even if it’s not on my original wedding day- I will be in a Carolina Herrera bridal collection dress. It’s what I live to see and what I truly see happening. Haha, see I have it all figured out in my head. Walking down the streets of New York City, making my way into House of Herrera and patiently waiting to meet you and try on a dress you have designed. Oh man, don’t wake me from this fantasy.

One day, some day, hopefully soon.
