Loqi knew that Sheik wasnât expecting anything from him for Christmas. They had talked about it, and of course Loqi had tried to insist he had to get him somethingâ but Sheik had just brushed it aside, said there was nothing they wanted beyond just being with Loqi, and that and a small kiss was enough to silence the smaller male. It was a sweet thought, and he had no doubt that Sheik meant it. All they wanted was to be with him.
But Loqi wanted to do more than that. For the first time in a long time, he genuinely wanted to giveâ and when he spotted it, he knew he had stumbled on the perfect gift.
The box was left on the kitchen table in Sheikâs apartment, wrapped rather messily in generic holiday paper. If that hadnât made it clear just who it was from, the card attached made it clear it was from Loqi (that was assuming that Sheik could decipher the messily scrawled handwriting). Undoubtedly it would cause a brow to quirk and perhaps a small chuckle as Sheik carefully undid the mess that Loqi had made.
Inside was a box with the word âBlankie Tailsâ emblazoned proudly across it, and inside was something that resembled a soft, pink sleeping bag with a blue mermaid fin attached. It was clearly just the latest version of the âsnuggieâ, and just another silly product for people to curl up inside since blankets were clearly too complicated.
⌠But this one was mermaid themed.
Perhaps the present came as a shock for Sheik in the beginning.  Certainly when it came to Loqi, the possibilities of odd presents were nearly endless.  But they hadnât expected somethingâŚso conveniently silly yet warm.
ButâŚat the very leastâŚ
They could now be the most beautiful mermaid in the whole apartment complex.
