For the Fun meta asks for writers: # 5, 8, 15, 19, and 24 :D
Thank you!! :D 5 and 8 are answered here. 19 is answered here. Which is harder: titles or summaries (or tags)? I would say titles! Titles feel very feast or famine to me. It’s either something where, the perfect one seems to fall out of the sky. Or, I end up settling for something that feels....meh. Sometimes it sort of holds me up, if I can’t think of one. Usually, I try to write titles/summaries (or at least ideas for them) as the same time I’m rough drafting so I don’t get to the end and feel entirely lost. That’s easier said than done, though. Sometimes it’s not what’s actually done. Summaries are usually pretty fun and easy to me because, as a personal practice, I like to be super cheeky and vague with them. So, I don’t feel much pressure for them to be anything but short and sassy. The one exception was writing the fic summary for BtG, which I sort of struggled with and ended feeling pretty meh/lukewarm about. Would you say your writing has changed over time? Yes! Gosh, incredibly so. I’ve changed tenses, changed so much about how I go about sitting down to write and how I track progress. I’ve gotten to know my characters and their voices so much better. I’ve have some turnarounds and setbacks for sure, but I’ve also had a huge amount of growth that sort of staggers me, sometimes, when I look back.
