Authors Note: Chapter 5! (Psst here are parts one, two, three, and four!)
A few days after changing the Hermes course back to Mars, you got to video chat with your dad. Settling into the computer chair you waited for the image to come up on the screen and jumping in the seat when it did. âHi dad!â
âHey sweetie! Howâs it going out there?â
âItâs going well, Iâm sure you know everything about Mark Watney?â He nodded, your dad had read every article on the Ares III mission. âWell, we thought he was dead and then we learned a little bit ago that heâs alive, and NASA didnât want us to go back and get himâŠâ
âSo youâre going back to get him.â Not a question, he knew exactly where you were going with this. âHow much longer is it going to make the trip?â
âA little over a year.â
You had always been able to talk to your dad, even when it was about something as difficult as this. âIf it was me, I would want you home safe. But I know you couldnât live with yourself if you left him there.â You smiled at him not noticing that someone had walked up behind you. âWhoâs that?â
Turning you found Chris leaning over the chair to get in frame. âThis is Dr. Chris Beck, our medical expert.â
âPleasure to meet you sir.â You rolled your eyes, he was going to suck up to your dad. âY/N talks about you all the time, itâs great to finally put a face to the name.â
âThe pleasure is all mine, sheâs mentioned you in a few emails. The work youâre doing sounds remarkable, I look forward to reading about how Y/N was able to help with it.â
This was getting embarrassing. âOkay dad, how are the boys?â
âThey both miss you. Charlie took in the recording of your last call and got to show it to class, I think they wanted to have you stop by when you get back and talk to the kids.â Chris was still in the background, having moved away once you changed the subject. âWhere are you from son? Youâre more than welcome to join in on that trip if youâd like.â
Widening your eyes you couldnât stop him fast enough, but Chris was already back at the computer. âIâm from Hartford, Connecticut but I would loved to talk to the kids if the school and Y/N are alright with it.â
âI have a feeling she will be.â He winked to you and suddenly you were burning up, this was a nightmare of epic awkwardness. âYour timeâs almost up sweetheart, call again when you get a chance? Iâll make sure the boys are here to see you.â
âThanks dad, love you.â
âI love you too. Stay safe you here me?â
As soon as the call was over you tried to run away as far and as fast as you could. There had to be a way to avoid this conversation, but Chris was faster and wrapped his arms around your waist twisting you away from the ladder. âNope, youâre not getting out of it that easy.â
âOut of what? I have no idea what youâre talking about.â
âDonât be coy, you talk to your dad about me.â
This was definitely more awkward than you wanted it to be. âYou know what, we donât have to talk about that.â
âWhat did you tell him besides my research?â
âI told him about everyone on the mission, heâs really interested in meeting Vogel. Did you know my dad lived in Germany for a few years before I was born?â But he didnât let go of you and he didnât give in to you trying to change the subject. âI told him that we were seeing each other.â
âYou told him I was your boyfriend?â
Your eyes went wide but Beck didnât react. âI didnât say that, just that we were hanging out and getting to know each other. What he inferred from that is completely out of my hands.â
âSo you dad thinks Iâm your boyfriend?â
âYeahâŠ.â
This was it, the moment you dreaded. Chris was going to take his arms away from you and decide that it wasnât worth it. âOkay.â
âWhat?â
Taking your hand he led you over to the window, you were in front of him and he let his arms snake around your waist. âI was kind of thinking of a romantic way to make it official, itâs not like either of us is seeing other people at the moment so I kind of already figured I was your boyfriend, but I wanted it to be special.â
âChris, weâre in space. Everything is special right now.â Turning around to face him you smiled.
He kissed you soundly before breaking apart, and just in time because Lewis came down the ladder in a flash. âHey guys, what are you up to?â
âI just got off a call with my dad, Chris was asking how he was.â
âOh yeah? Did you tell him weâre going to be up here longer? Howâd he take it?â
Folding your arms you tried not to miss him. âHe took it well, just canât wait for me to be home.â
âGood, Iâm glad he wasnât angry.â Lewis was getting on the computer but her brow creased in confusion. âThereâs another call coming in, Y/N itâs for you.â
âWhat?â
She moved to the side and opened the window only for your motherâs face to pop up. âHow dare you not tell me you were staying up there longer! I had to hear it from your father of all people.â
âHello to you too, mom.â
âDonât you sass me, you were going to keep me in the dark about this. Didnât think your own mother deserved to know.â
âDid dad also tell you why Iâm extending my trip?â
But she scoffed. âBecause of that guy who went and got himself killed, you think heâs worth all that extra time in space?â
âHeâs worth more time in space than any time on Earth.â
It didnât take long for her to think of a guilt trip. âWhy didnât you tell me though, did you not think I needed to know my only daughter was staying in space for another year?â
âIâm not even supposed to be on this call right now, we only get a limited number of time on the satellite! I told dad and asked him to tell everyone else. Brandon is finding out from dad, and so is grandma.â
âI just think you should have told me yourself.â
âWell I couldnât and Iâm done this conversation now.â
You hung up and without a second glance climbed the ladder out of the room. Lewis had been trying to get Chris out but he was there for the entire thing, not she could barely get him to stay. âListen to me, itâs not the first time sheâs gotten a call like that and it wonât be the last. Give her some time.â
He found you in the gym a little while later, running as fast and hard as you could and your body already covered in a thin layer of sweat. âI canât right now.â
âDo you want me to go?â
âNo, I just canât talk about it right now.â
Taking a chair he sat in front of the treadmill writing notes. âWe donât have to talk.â
You ran for close to an hour before slowing down to a walk and finally stopping altogether. âIâm sorry.â
âFor what?â
âThat you had to see it.â
Chris stood and held out a towel for you to dry off with. âI just wanted to make sure you were alright, I know you donât want to talk about it and you donât have to until youâre ready. And if thatâs never...then Iâll just be happy to have you.â
Your chin quivered and you couldnât stop it, but Chris pulled you towards him not caring that you were still sticky with sweat. âIâm right here, youâre alright.â
âSheâs just so mean. All the time! Itâs ridiculous having the hear about how stupid and dangerous it is to go to space in these emails, and then hear about how proud she is that her daughter is an astronaut.â Angry tears streamed down your face. âSheâs unsupportive of everything Iâve ever done and as soon as I cut her out of my life she manipulates her way back in saying how sorry she is and how much she loves me. I try to shut her down but she just finds new ways to get under my skin.â
You felt embarrassed enough that you were sure Chris was going to break up with you, but he just held you tight.
âI shouldnât have unloaded on you like that, Iâm sorry.â
âStop being so sorry about everything.â He pulled back to look at you. âItâs not your fault, none of it is your fault. That call, that aggressive and out of line call, is not how the rest of the world sees you and I hope itâs not how you see yourself. I will fight her myself if she calls you again and treats you like that.â
Chris was pretending to box as you laughed. âI might take you up on that.â
âYou donât deserve to be manipulated like that Y/N, seriously please donât let her ruin what youâre doing up here.â
Nodding you wiped your face clear. âI need to go take a shower, I have a feeling my legs are going to kill me later.â
âIâll make sure to rub them for you.â With a kiss you left hoping that you didnât smell too badly before Chris went to find Commander Lewis. âCan I talk to you?â
No one else was around, but Chris still felt awkward. âIs this a mission thing or a personal thing?â
âPersonal, well, itâs about Y/N.â
âAbout what happened earlier?â He nodded. âIâm guessing you talked to her?â
âI let her run for awhile, but she gave me a rundown of what was going on. I just went to see if she was okay and to give her some company.â
Melissa leaned back in her chair, she was older than most of the crew but not by much. âY/N came to me within the first month of the mission, asking if I could do her a personal favor. She gave me a name and an email address and asked that I go through her data dumps and look for anything from her mother and immediately delete it. She doesnât even want to see her name Beck, and you can see why. The woman is abusive.â
âHas she talked to you about it?â
âI told her that she could but Y/N hasnât mentioned it since then. This is the first time her mother has even called and to me it sounded like she just wanted to ridicule Y/N for doing something selfless.â Lewis shook her head, you had become like the little sister to most of the crew so it was hard for her to see how you were treated. âI know the two of you are close, be there for her.â

Authors Note: Chapter 4!
As soon as the door opened he sat up looking to you and trying to see the level of hurt you were willing to show him, and as the door closed and the tears escaped he was there holding you in his arms and whispering consoling words. It felt like you could barely move but Chris brought the both of you over to your bed and laid you down with him.
The tears soaked through his shirt but he didnât say anything, he stroked your hair and whispered that you were going to be alright, he promised to stay with you as long as you needed, and he reminded you to breathe.
And when someone knocked on the door Chris cracked it open letting Vogel know that you were just processing what had happened to Mark and needed some time. âLet me know if I can be of any help.â Vogel was a good guy, you made a mental note to thank him later.
Chris was back with you the moment the door was closed kissing your temple and reminding you that you would be okay.
âY/N,â The intercom sounded in her room. âCan you come down to the meeting room please? And if you can find Beck tell him to come too.â Commander Lewisâ voice was terse and you could tell she wanted to talk about what happened.
He helped you clean off your face the best you could and gave you a quick kiss for support. The table was silent as you both took a seat, Beck next to the Commander and you between Vogel and Martinez. You took a chance to send a thankful smile at Vogel who in return placed his hand overtop of yours.
âWe need to divvy up the rest of the duties, Iâve already sent a report to NASA so they know. I let them know that we searched for as long as we could butâŠâ She look away from you all, Lewis felt that it was her fault and that she failed to bring Mark home. âLetâs remember that weâre a team, we can get through this together but we have to rely on each other if we need it.â
The duties were listed out and everyone took an equal amount, once it was done you stood to run back to bed but Vogel stopped you and rubbed his hands across your arms. âAre you alright?â
âNo.â
You could tell that everyone was upset, but none of them had felt Mark slip away. âI am here if you need me.â You thanked him before leaving the other four. âShe is taking this very hard.â
âShe feels like she could have helped Mark, like itâs her fault.â Lewis raised an eyebrow at Beck. âI found her crying outside her room earlier, she told me.â
Chris stayed with you talking about anything, neither of you could fall asleep so you had faced each other in bed and started talking.
âMy nephews, theyâre four and seven, are some of the funniest people Iâve ever met in my life. They love climb all over us and act like monkeys, my brother sometimes plays along which makes it weird.â You couldnât help but smile, one of your favorite memories was the four of you running around acting like monkeys and after you were done you had banana milkshakes. âDo you have any siblings?â
âNo, itâs just me. My parents only wanted one kid.â He brushed hair away from your face. âIt was lonely but I got to have my own room.â
âMy parents got divorced when I was really young,â There was no way he was going to interrupt you. âI really only had my dad and brother, it was fun though we played a lot of games and made up stories with each other.â
Chris laced his fingers with yours. âThat sounds nice.â
There was only a couple of hours until you needed to be up and working again, so you let Chrisâ arms wrap around you and tried to calm down. âThank you.â
His lips pressed against your temple. âYou never have to thank me for this, youâre helping me just as much.â
The week following your exit from the red planet was somber, everyone avoided the topic of Mark and tried to go on with their research or whatever they were working on, which was helpful for Chris because you went back to spending alone time in the gym.
You worked with everything you could from the short time you were at the HAB, most of your research was still there but from everything you could remember you started writing and theorizing. It helped and you found that talking about your ideas with the rest of the crew helped too.
There was a night though, about three months after leaving, that you got a data dump filled with pictures and emails from your families and with it came a message addressed to the crew. âHey, we got a message from NASA.â
âHey guys, Mitch Henderson here.â He went on to say that Mark was alive, that they had known for a couple of months and how heâs stressed it wasnât anyoneâs fault. How the director wanted to keep it from you and bring you home rather than risk a rescue mission, and how he believed the crew deserved to know that one of their own was alive.
So you all sat around trying to process and figure out what to do. You and Chris had started sitting on opposite sides of the room so there would be no risk of accidentally being affectionate, the others had already noticed how present he was after getting back to the Hermes, but your eyes locked with his immediately.
âIs there any way we could go back for him?â
Lewis shook her head, obviously it was something she had thought about. âMission Control can change our course at any time and can override anything we put into the system, if we turn back now theyâll just change it back to put us on course.â
âAnd besides that we donât really have a plan on how weâre going to get to him. Or have him get to us.â Martinez couldnât pilot the MAV back to Mars and then back to Hermes, it just wasnât built for that. And the descent vehicle was left there but it didnât have enough thrusters to lift itâs own weight let alone a person with it. âWhat do you think we should do commander?â
Everyone looked to her, but she didnât have any ideas. âWeâll think of something.â
It was nice being able to sleep next to Chris again, and it was even better getting to screw his brains out again too. You had to make sure to be quiet which was difficult when he was moving his tongue in certain ways, but so far you hadnât been caught. Everyone knew that you were spending more time together anyway, but since you were the youngest two on the crew they assumed it was bound to happen.
âY/N, I know itâs your personal time but can I talk to you?â
âYeah Vogel, Iâm at my workstation.â When he got there you had finished up your thought and put the binder away. âWhatâs up?â
âI got an email from my wife with âour childrenâ but I canât open the attachment. I know you do well with computers, think you can help?â
Pulling it up you worked through the attachment file and looking through the code. âItâs not a jpeg.â
âWhat does that mean?â
âItâs not a picture, itâsâŠâ Words popped up on the screen. âCoordinates.â
Both of you stared, who was Rich Purnell? Why was he sending these to Vogel? âDo you know what they mean?â
âNo, can you call the Commander down here please?â
Suddenly there was a whirlwind of commotion, Lewis took one look at the message and called Martinez who started rambling on about trajectories and how the Hermes could get close enough...you werenât listening too intently instead opting to call Chris down so he could be there for whatever was going to happen.
âWhatâs going on?â
âVogel got an email with that message encrypted, Martinez thinks itâs a set of coordinates to get Mark.â You were trying not to bite your lips, the crew was all waiting patiently for something to be figured out and as soon as Martinez nodded the commander ordered a meeting.
âAlright, so we assume someone at NASA sent these coordinates for us, and the way Martinez has worked it out this is something that we could feasibly do.â
âLetâs do it.â Everyone was sitting around listening, but Martinez was chomping at the bit.
Lewis could only laugh. âWhoa there, first of all if we do this it has to be unanimous. This is treason, and I donât take that word lightly. Weâre going against NASA on this, weâll probably never get to fly again and itâll add over 300 Sols to our trip. And as for you and me,â She turned back to Martinez. âWeâre military, weâll get Court Martialed the moment we touch down on Earth.â
âGood, Iâm in.â
âLike I said, it needs to be unanimous. Y/N?â
You nodded. âAbsolutely.â
âBeck?â
âYes.â
âVogel, I know I canât really ask you as a superior since it isnât sanctioned. But, what do you want to do?â
He looked around, it was nice having him with you. Vogel was kind and enjoyed everyoneâs company. âThis will be over 900 days in space, I think thatâs enough for one lifetime.â
Lewis smiled. âLetâs go get our boy.â
You all cheered and immediately you threw your arms around Martinez who enthusiastically returned the hug.
This was happening, you were going to get him back. Looking across the room at Chris his eyes were bright with excitement and you wanted nothing more than to run over and kiss him, instead you winked.
There was so much to do.

Authors Note: Chapter 3! (Chapter 1, Chapter 2)
The day came when you finally got to Mars and you didnât think the crew could be more excited. Once the MAV was on the ground you all filtered out with whatever bags you had brought and made way to the HAB, you were going to be living in a tent on Mars for the next month.
You and Chris had been sneaking around when everyone else was asleep or trying to make out as soon as someone left the room, you were like teenagers again, so it was sad to realize that when you got to Mars it would be harder to do that.
âLetâs just see what happens,â Chris was behind you holding your body to his. âNo need to get upset just yet.â
It had been so nice being able to sleep with someone again, to let the rhythm of their breathing lull you to sleep. âIâm going to miss this though.â
You had to get up and sneak back to your room, today was the day that you took the descent vehicle down to Mars and started doing your job. No one saw you sneak back into your room and you made sure to pack as quickly as possible, all the essentials that were needed would already be there for everyone so it was just what you wanted to bring.
In only a few minutes you were refreshed and ready to go meeting the others at the MDV and once Houston gave the go ahead you were leaving the Hermes and taking your first steps on the red planet.
âCan you believe this?â Martinez yelled walking out into the dirt. âThis is awesome! Everyone is getting a hug when we get out of these suits, even you Commander.â
Lewis laughed at him. âWeâll see about that.â
Once inside though everyoneâs emotions finally erupted, Martinez went around to everyone giving them a giant hug, Watney high fived, and you stood between Vogel and Beck hugging one in each arm. Commander Lewis looked so happy that she couldnât even give you all orders, just told you to unpack and take a look around.
Your bunk was across from Chris, climbing up into it you started taping up pictures of your nephews and when you were done you noticed he was smiling over at you. âWhat?â
âNothing.â But he just shook his head, it was going to be a long month. âWanna check out the work stations?â
You each had a desk type table to work at in the same room, making your way down the hallway towards the room you both joked about trying to be the first people to have sex on Mars. âIâm pretty sure weâre already the first people in space, might as well add one more place to the list.â
âWhat list?â Neither of you noticed that Lewis was standing behind you as you stood in the middle of the work room.
Jumping at her voice you smiled. âFirst people on Mars to celebrate a birthday, yours is coming up Commander.â
She took the not-so-much-of-a-lie-as-a-cover-up and went to look at the rest of the work spaces, meeting Chrisâ eyes he let out a silent breath. That was close.
âWeâre going to take a small excursion in an hour Y/N, figure out where we need to start and maybe take a few samples while weâre out there.â Acknowledging her you went over to the desk closest and started writing a few things down that you would need to remember.
Once you were done you took a chance and planted a soft kiss on Beckâs lips before going to prepare. All six of you went out, Beck insisted that he join because in his words âwhen am I going to walk around on Mars after this?â
So you all spread apart checking the landscape outside of the HAB to see which areas to start with, but you were only out for a little while while you and Mark determined areas that would be beneficial to your research before running inside and writing down as much as you could before forgetting.
âYou two do know that we can record what weâre saying in the suits, right?â
You and Mark looked at each other. âHow did we forget that!â
âIâve already forgotten everything!â Throwing your hands up you grabbed fistfuls of hair, the others started laughing as you dropped down flat on your desk. âHow did we let this happen?â
Mark was laughing hysterically next to you rubbing the space between your shoulders. âItâs okay, we have an entire two months, there wasnât anything we could find in our first hour on Mars that would help lead to a discovery anyway.â
âI need coffee.â Â You left them to find the kitchen and heat up a cup of coffee for yourself, it had been much longer than you were comfortable without caffeine. Chris leaned against the counter but you couldnât even look at him. âIâm so embarrassed right now.â
âItâs your first trip, itâs a lot to take in and itâs amazing. No oneâs thinking youâre an idiot, or stupid, or anything other than excited.â He was being so supportive, you just leaned your head against his shoulder. âDonât worry about it, alright?â
You took the cup back to your desk and went back to work reading and rereading the notes from the previous two Ares missions, making your own notes of what to look for, and studying maps to see where might be the best place for you to work.
âY/N, what are you still doing up?â The room was empty, everyone had gone to bed and you hadnât even noticed. âAre you still working?â
Chris was looking at you with a worried expression. âI did it again, didnât I?â
âYeah. Are you alright?â
Nodding you took a few steps towards him to wrap your arms around his torso. âJust focused and excited.â
âLetâs get you to bed, you can be excited tomorrow.â
He placed a kiss on your lips before leading you out to the bunks and watching as you crawled in and immediately nestled into a comfortable spot. When he got into his own bed you smiled over at him and with a small wave you closed your eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
The next few days were spent mostly apart from each other as you did a lot of research and barely slept, each night one of the crew was pushing you towards your bunk only to have you fight the entire way and pass out as soon as your head hit the pillow.
On the night Mark had decided to put you to bed, he stood at your desk watching for a little while and observing your work. âCommander says you need to stop, youâre going to run yourself into the ground.â But you kept going until Mark gently took your hands in his own. âWeâre here for awhile Y/N, youâre going to be able to get a lot more done if you can sleep and actually focus on it all rather than pull all nighters like youâre in undergrad again.â
âYouâre right, Iâm freaking out about this more than I should be.â
Mark wrapped you in a hug letting your head rest against his shoulder. âWeâre all doing important work up here, besides Martinez I mean. No matter what youâre going to rock the geology world.â
It was the first night that you went to bed and didnât try to fight, and didnât dream of what you could discover out there. You slept peacefully for the first time in months.
But on Sol 6, when the storm hit, all you could think of was Chris and hugging him as hard as you could when you got back to the Hermes. Mark had slipped out of your fingers, you had tried to get him but he was pulled away and now he was dead. The seat next to you would be vacant on the MAV, you laid a hand on the seat anyway pretending he was there.
Once on the Hermes there was no time for anyone to freak out, each of you had a job to do and once the MAV docked everyone scattered to prepare for the ride home. There was no time to sit and cry over Mark, you busied yourself until finally the Hermes was ready to go and you started for your room only to open the door and see Chris waiting for you.

Authors Note: Chapter 2! (Here is chapter 1)
Months went by and the crew continued their duties and work. You still took time to yourself to run on the treadmill and had even started doing a little bit of bench pressing. It wasnât much, but it kept you feeling normal at least.
As expected, when you started lifting the weights Beck made sure to take measurements of your muscles to see how they reacted in space. He was sure you were going to help his research tremendously and you enjoyed his company so you let him watch and record the changes.
âWhenâs your birthday?â You hadnât really talked about personal things with him, but he was starting to ask more and more. âMineâs August 2nd.â
âApril 1st, couple of months ago.â
He look shocked and immediately held his hands out incredulously. âAnd you didnât tell anyone?!â
âCommander Lewis wished me a happy birthday, itâs in my file you can read it whenever you want.â His face looked so hurt that you couldnât hold back a laugh. âWhat would you have done anyway Chris? We only just started acting like friends.â
âI would have stolen you another ice cream sandwich, I couldnât put a candle in it but itâs the thought that counts.â By now you had stopped running and he brought you over to check your BMI and muscle mass. âBesides, youâre stuck with all of us for awhile you really thought no one would want to celebrate your birthday?â
âIâve never been too happy about my birthday.â
Chris wrote the final number in the binder before closing the distance between you. âI know that you donât want to talk about it, and you probably talked a lot in the therapy sessions before coming up here, but seriously Iâm here if you need me.â
Thanking him you left to wash up and lie down, it was difficult opening up to someone new but he was starting to become the person you were closest to up here. And considering your options, that didnât seem too bad.
The next day when you were working at your desk Vogel came over and was talking to you about something and when you heard shuffling behind your back you realized it had been a diversion. âHappy birthday!â
Everyone was crowded around a microwavable brownie that had been brought up. âIâm actually upset you didnât tell us about your birthday,â Martinez had one hand on your shoulder as everyone took forks and started eating. âI mean, did you not trust us? What?â
You shrugged. âI donât like my birthday.â Commander Lewis knew all about why you didnât like it, but knew it wasnât her place to say. There wasnât much she didnât know about her crew. âBesides, whenâs yours?â
It was the first time in months that the crew had been together for more than five minutes and enjoyed the time. Martinez made sure there was a picture to commemorate the moment and a birthday chart was made so no one could hide like you had.
After everyone had left though Beck hung back. âYouâre not mad I told them, are you?â
âNo, you did it for a good reason.â
He was quiet for a minute standing behind you while you continued working. âWhy donât you like your birthday?â
How would you even explain it? Would he understand if you did? If he didnât, or thought you were crazy then you were stuck together for at least another year skirting around each other awkwardly. âJust a bad experience years ago that kind of ruined it for me.â
You were being vague and that was probably annoying but you just werenât ready yet. Luckily he understood and changed the subject talking about his home and where he went to school. Your birthday wasnât brought up again for months.
On August 2nd you all gathered around and sang to Chris taking a picture to send back down to NASA with your reports, you were only a month out from Mars and everyone was getting antsy so a birthday was the perfect way to relax.
You waited until everyone had left to give Chris a big hug. âHappy birthday.â
His arms held you around your waist. âThank you, definitely one of the more interesting places to celebrate donât you agree?â
âIt really is.â You had wandered over to the window, as you were prone to doing while thinking, and stared out into the void catching the light of the stars. âIf you were home, what would be one thing you would want for your birthday?â
Turning on your heel you saw Chrisâ cheeks flush, he was trying to hold back a smile but couldnât. âIâm not sure youâd be willing to help me with what I want.â
âWhyâs that?â
Running a hand down his face you could see the embarrassment. âBecause weâre not supposed to, itâs against the rules.â
Now you were interested. âWell then, I guess Iâll go to bed.â You strode over and placed a kiss softly on his cheek. âHappy birthday.â
He didnât waste anytime throwing his hands out to grab your waist before placing his lips firmly over yours. It was a shock at first but it only took a minute to melt into the kiss holding onto one of his arms while the other hand snaked up his neck. Chris broke away first keeping his eyes closed. âI wonât lie, Iâve wanted to do that for a few months.â
âNo complaint here.â With a wink you left for bed watching as he smiled to himself.
Neither of you talked about it, there wasnât even a question of talking to the others about it either. This was a mission and NASA had strict rules concerning relationships, or whatever kissing another crew member is called. But that didnât mean you hadnât thought about it after the fact, the days that followed Chrisâ birthday were filled with coy smiles and even a cheeky wink but you hadnât been able to be alone long enough to do anything.
One night, after everyone had gone to bed, you snuck out to Chrisâ room and knocked softly. âHey,â You whispered when he opened the door. âMind if I come in?â
âEverything alright?â
It didnât sound like you had woken him. âI just wanted to talk, Iâve been thinking about what happened on your birthday.â
âOh, oh God youâre upset arenât you? Iâm sorry, I shouldnât have kissed you without making sure it was okay with you first I-â
You cut him off grabbing onto his shirt and pulling him towards you kissing him soundly. Pulling back you smiled. âI wanted to tell you that I was happy it happened. But I wanted to make sure you were alright with it too.â
âIâve been trying to find a time to be alone with you since it happened!â
âNowâs your chance.â
Not waiting for another word, Chris slid his hands around your pulling your bodies flush against each other and crashing his lips into yours. It was a hungrier kiss than before, Chris sucked on your bottom lip before trailing wet kisses down your jaw and towards your neck.
Your hands slid under the hem of his shirt teasing your fingertips across the tight muscles of his chest, you could feel his fingers dip into your hips and knew you were getting to a point where they would be no stopping. He reached back and pulled the t-shirt off in one motion leaving him half naked and urging you to follow suit which you happily did.
Kissing down your shoulder and collarbone Chris bent to lift you at the knees and place your legs around his waist, you could easily feel his arousal through the sleep pants he wore and you were sure he could feel your heat against him. Pinning you to the door he pulled off your bra and rolled one of your nipples between his fingers while his tongue circled the other. It was getting harder to keep quiet and with each breath you could feel your orgasm start to build.
It only took a single moan for Chris to move from the wall to the bed and hook his fingers in the waistband of your sleep pants pulling them down with your panties at the same time. Kissing down your body his thumb worked around your swollen clit slowly only moving away so his lips could take over. You almost lost it then, but Chris slid two fingers inside of you pumping slowly as you writhed beneath him.
Taking one of your nipples between your fingers you worked it around as Chris moaned against you. âDonât stop.â You panted urging him to suck gently as he pulled his fingers into a come hither motion hitting just where you needed him to be to peak and placing his pillow over your mouth you came around his fingers before pulling him up to taste yourself on his lips as he pulled his own pants off and letting his tip rub against your opening before sliding in slowly.
He moaned his pleasure quietly as his hips started moving and grabbing at your thighs to get a better angle, it only took another minute for you to feel the coil in your stomach start to tighten and before either of you knew it another orgasm washed over you making Chris follow you with erratic thrusts.
Pulling out of you slowly Chris fell onto the bed next to you catching his breath. âI really hope Martinez didnât hear that.â But a loud snore from the next room let you know he was still asleep.
âI think weâre good.â You giggled into the pillow trying not to be too loud.
Chris was smiling and reached out to brush a piece of hair away from your face before placing a soft kiss on your lips. âThis is good with you?â
You nodded. âYou?â
He kissed you again sighing with content. âThis is a rule I would break any day.â
