Coliseum Week--@Leixia
The sun shone bright in the sky, seated atop the divine bed of clouds that rested beneath it. Rays of light danced off of the whitened floors, illuminating the stadium like the floors of Heaven. The coliseum was filled with the eager cries and shouts of zealous bystanders, an encouraging yet intimidating battle hymn that reverberated through the arena. Sophitia Alexandra stood on the far right side of the vast arena, hidden by the gate that kept her from the battle grounds. She swept her blonde hair over her shoulder, taking a deep breath as she observed the scene around her. In a matter of minutes, she was to be called forth, to duel with some unknown opponent in hopes of achieving victory. The Grecian woman raised her weapons, soundly tapping her shield against the edge of her sword--a custom she'd acquired through her many years of fighting. Her veins coursed with vigor and exhilaration from the anticipation of the battle. She'd never fought for fun before; never had she thought of fighting as a sport, or an event to do in jest. It had taken a fair deal of begging and whining on her children's part, but in the end they had won. Now, here Sophitia stood, out of her own free will. She cared not for the event, and even longed to drop out of the line-up--but the thought of her two little ones kept her motivated. How happy they'd be to see their mother, in all of her divine glory, fighting in the open for all to see! A loud voice boomed through the empty arena, and Sophitia recognized this as her call to step out to battle. Her name was called, as well as her opponent's--a warrior by the name of Yan Leixia--and at once the gate lifted before her. Sophitia stepped out, body held high and weapons tightly raised in her hands as she placed herself before the eager crowd. Her opponent's name sounded foreign, like that of someone who hailed from the East, and Sophitia found herself anxious to meet the other warrior. She waited, eyes fixed on the far side of the stadium, but no person emerged. Perhaps the warrior had bailed, or had gotten lost. Sophitia squinted, lips twisting into a frown as she did so. She sure hoped that her opponent would show!

"Oh, damn it, am I really lost?"
She felt like she had been going in circles for the past two hours. The map, which she thought she was reading correctly, obviously wasn't taking her anywhere. Holding the map up, Cassandra tried to make heads or tails of the unfamiliar markings, still completely unaware that she was holding it upside-down. She was almost tempted to try to ask an old couple who was working in the fields she was walking past, but she doubted her limited vocabulary would be able to help her either form a decent question or hear any answer they had.
As she walked along, she couldn't help but hear the loud braying of a donkey tethered to the wooden fence that surrounded a small home. She knew very well that the donkey was considered a sacred animal of Hephaestus, and narrowed her eyes, considering drawing her sword and slaying the animal on the spot. However, she didn't want to draw too much attention to herself, especially in this foreign, unfriendly land. Swearing quietly under her breath, the woman turned her gaze back to the map, staring intently at it as she walked past the loudly-braying animal, stopping and sticking her tongue out at it once she was a good distance away before turning and continuing down the path.
"I don't think I'll ever be getting out of here..." she groaned, turning the map to one side in hopes that something might make sense. Maybe Athena would come down and touch her with wisdom and allow her to read this strange writing! Staring hard at the map while silently asking the goddess for help, Cassandra only sighed when she found the cryptic writing just as cryptic as ever. "Or maybe she'll just sit back and tell me to deal with this myself..." she groaned, shaking her head. Well, until she got some kind of divine revelation, she may as well continue down this path...
