Vanishing point. It doesn't matter where you put this think but it makes your bg a bit more tidy. Critical with certain eye views. Determines where you put dull and contrasting colors. (well-- in my opinion) Perspective. Just imagine a couple of lines connected to the vanishing point. Makes objects in the background more uniform. Light source. Determines where you put your additions and multiplys. Sketch I know it looks like crap, but sketches-- i can't do them messy coz i'm a bit lazy.

Starting color--well-- base color. What's the feel of your bg? Dark? Light? Hazy? Shiny? Your color palettes determine your bg. It doesn't have to be one color. You can make it like dual colors Lighter ones at this side of the canvas, darker ones at the other.

Painting BG, is more comfortable and easy for me to do, like a BG takes 1-3 hours instead of 5-6. plus it makes you cover your mistakes with even more mistakes. yep.

Overlay Helps a lot with the color adjustment when you're too lazy to re-paint them yourself. In PS i don't use overlay but that other one-- hhh i forgot what it was. oh well. Addition Lightings and other wingdings. In PS however hard light, soft light are my type of lightings. I don't trust (add) :V. Multiply Darkening only certain parts, emphasizing glass windows, hair shadings.

Shiin Cheat. Tips. If you're doing bg, put all of the hard things to draw and color behind a character's back. It saves a lot of work and dying.
