paperwork perhaps? || allen & naoto
Maybe he would die here. Buried in papers, his hands cramped from writing, and his cheek red from where it had lain on the desk. He understood the science division now, why their eyes were always rimmed with purple tiredness and why their constant companion was the rich taste of coffee.
This torture that called itself paperwork was truly a force to be reckoned with. Allen had gone against many powerful opponents, especially during his time in the Black Order. But this... this enemy of paper and ink and time-consuming pain was entirely new to him, and he wasn't sure how to go upon defeating it. Brute strength didn't appear to be an option, and the only other thing he could think of was just sheer force of will.
So, that's exactly what he'd have to do. Allen was mustering his courage to tackle the pile of sheets once again when he heard the footsteps approaching, looking up from the stack of papers just in time to see a coffee cup placed on the corner of his desk.
"Thank you, Naoto... I needed that."
