Shisui stood rigid in front of the man. He was seeing a ghost.Â
He didn't trust his eyes, or his mind. The blood drained from his face.Â
There he was. After all this time.. but he was imagining him wasn't he?Â
He parted his lips to speak but no word came out. He was seeing him as if through a veil, a thinly veiled delusion. He had to be, he could not be real, he was just another whisper in the wind. Shisui was imagining him as he imagined the the souls of the other Uchiha. He knew if he spoke a word, Itachi would cease to be. Shisui would wake up and left to himself as he always was. He was dreaming.Â
His hand trembled as he lifted his arm to reach out.. he ghosted his fingers near the skin of his arm. Shisui flinched as if shocked. Needles. Itachi's skin was warm. He lifted his eyes to meet that darkly solemn stare, piercing straight through to his heart. Ita. Ita Ita Ita Ita. Shisui's head swam.Â
He lifted his hand again, to Itachi's handsome.. perfect face. He hadn't aged a day, his straight nose, the bones of his chiselled cheekbones. Such pure beauty, Shisui was weeping. His long sable strands, his signature Uchiha silky hair..Â
This wasn't real, none of it was real. Shisui couldn't stop staring at his friend, he wouldn't. He didn't look away for single second, drinking in his presence. If he blinked, Itachi would fade away.
"Ita.."Â Â

He'd heard what happened. That Shiro had abandoned he one person who needed him the most, abandoned the entire team really, but... Keith looked like he was about to completely fall apart.
It was a devastating blow to everyone, but Hunk knew Keith was taking the worst brunt of all of them. And the second they had even a moment alone, the younger paladin was moving to be by his side.
Large, strong arms moved to lift Keith up and hold him tight, similar to how a mother would comfort a child. Yet Hunk said nothing, made no sound.
A strong, silent pillar that was grounded for Keith to hold onto, that was what the red paladin likely needed right now, and so... That's what Hunk would be. If asked to he would talk, but nothing the Yellow Paladin said could undo the severe damage that had been done. So for now, he just stood steady and strong, and held the red paladin in his arms.
it had all happened SO FAST --- before she knew it, stormtroopers were everywhere, surrounding them. cornering them like animals. the all too familiar sound of gunfire rang through the air. remnants of war once fought clawed at her memory. ahsoka shook off the weight of the past --- for now --- otherwise, she wouldnât make it out of this. clumsily grabbing for her blaster, a weapon she was not yet used to wielding, she luckily shot some stormtroopers down.Â
looking to jyn, finding that she was holding her own. ahsoka began looking for a way out, but they were trapped, and there was a chance reinforcements would be called with the fuss they kicked up. ahsoka could have easily climbed out of the alleyway ---- but she wasnât sure if jyn could. then, she heard it. an imperial walker, probably out doing patrol, and heard the noise. with just their two blasters, there wasnât much chance. or MUCH CHOICE.Â
â jyn !! get down !! â as soon as the walker was in her sight, her breath slowed. her eyes slipped shut and she began to focus on the force around her, calling it to her, a familiar feeling of warmth spread throughout her. for a fleeting moment, it felt as though her heart wasnât hollow. she felt connected. her heart ached to reach out for the people that werenât there to reach back. but before she could be swallowed by the loss of all that she had ever known -- she opened her eyes, hand raised, commanding the force that surrounded her. bending it to her will. as if no time had passed. as if she still were still A JEDI.Â
the imperial walkerâs legs broke from underneath itself, and before any other time was wasted, ahsoka grabbed jynâs hand. â câmon, letâs go !! âÂ

The Last One Down
K2 never was going to be someone who took death lying down.  She didnât want to lie upon the ground and feel her life slowly escape her. She would take death head on, moving forward to the very end. And yet, in the moment, death can be tempting in its persuasion. The sound of a bullet had sounded throughout the chamber like a crack of a whip, sharp and incredibly loud.  A sound that was no doubt familiar to K2, living her life surrounded by the smell of gunpowder and the sounds of open fire. She had dodged bullets for as long as she could remember.  Sometimes theyâd miss completely, and sometimes, theyâd hit her in the leg or the shoulder, and sheâd keep going regardless.  Something like that wasnât going to stop her. But she wasnât invincible.  The other ALPHA units were good examples of that. They had all fallen one by one before her, their blood staining the walls of Aperture forever. Perhaps she shouldâve known that soon enough, itâd be her turn. But that thought was far from her mind, as recently, she had felt⌠happy. Life had been getting better for her, even if it was only bit by bit.  She met someone, a friend, a companion.  She wasnât alone down here anymore.  She was still dodging bullets and dancing with death, but she was finally allowed a comfort from it all. K2 shouldâve guessed that it couldnât last. She ought to have known, to have learned from those who came before her. It all ended, she just happened to last the longest. The sound of a bullet she had heard so many times, though this time, it seemed to ring in her ears even louder than before.  It stunned her into standing still for a moment, shock shooting through every vein in her body. Only, it wasnât the sound of the bullet that had stalled her, it was the impact. Pain blossomed forth, pulling a scream of agony from her throat.  Her knees shook, and she fell to the ground.  She had been hit.  She had hardly noticed her own hands moving to grip the wound, and forced herself to pull them away.  The metal was coated in dark, crimson blood. Everything seemed to go in slow motion, her brain struggling to process what had just happened.  She had been shot, in the chest.  The bullet had not exited her body, and was still stuck inside of her, doubling the pain every time she tried to move. It hadnât hit her directly in the heart, but damn it was close.  Too close. She would not last long, she knew this much. Had the other ALPHA units felt this way?  This strange, pulling sensation that seemed to grab at the edges of your mind, taking you away piece by piece?  A feeling that could only be described as the grim reaper himself, carefully trying to pull you away from the mortal world. How easy it would be, to simply fall onto her back and lie there, wait the seconds or minutes it would take to fully leave this world. Let everything go numb, and finally rest. But she couldnât. K2 was restless.  She still needed to fight. She still needed to do what was asked of her.  She still needed to⌠to see her again.  If she finished the job that GLaDOS gave her, sheâd be allowed to see her. The android that gave her something to look forward amongst all the tests and training that GLaDOS gave her. Slowly, she stood back up.  Her limbs shook with every movement, but she refused to fall. The offending bullet had come from a turret, carefully placed and hidden to be out of her sight.  She had just gone through one of the hardest training sessions of her life, so she was hardly expecting a seemingly pathetic little turret.  But she had let her guard down, and paid the price. Now, she had to finish the job.  She stumbled forward, trying to keep the feeling in her legs from going away.  Everything hurt.  She felt every movement like it was a burning knife being dragged across her body.  She could hear the blood dripping onto the ground, her own blood, quickly growing into puddles of gore. She got about five feet away from the turret when it shot again, this time landing in her arm.  Another cry of pain was pulled from her throat, though this time, it was far more hoarse and weak. The force of the attack knocked her to the ground once more, and the urge to stay down only grew stronger.  It hurt. Everything hurt.  She wanted someone to comfort her, to make the pain go away.  She knew she was going to die, but she longed to at least have someone there, to hold her and talk to her for awhile, in the last moments of her life. K2 knew that wouldnât happen.  She was alone down here, and nobody would be able to reach her in time. Not GLaDOS- who she doubted would even bother in the first place- android or otherwise. By the time anyone found her, sheâd be nothing but a cold corpse.  But she wasnât going to let that stop her. Not yet. Once more, she pulled herself up, wobbling back and forth.  Blood was freely coming from both her wounds, and she knew at this rate, she likely had a few minutes to live, at best.  So, with every last bit of strength she could pull together, she threw herself at the turret, knocking it to the ground and effectively shutting it down. The action left her on the ground for the third time, blood pooling around her.  Her vision in her remaining human eye was starting to go black, the robotic eye being the only thing giving her a proper view of her surroundings. A cold, lonely training chamber.  This would be the last thing she saw before she died.  A weak smile played at her lips, blood trickling out the side of her mouth as she coughed, now struggling to just get air into her lungs. With each breath, came a cough. A gurgling, rasping noise, blood coming up her throat and nearly choking her with each attempt.  She spat it out, though the attempt was fruitless, as more blood only replaced it. She couldnât stand anymore, but she could crawl. Using her remaining good arm, she practically pulled herself on the ground, smearing blood along the white floors of Aperture with every movement. She made it about ten feet from the exit when her arm started to lose feeling.  She tried and tried, but she couldnât move it.  She couldnât move anything.  Everything hurt, but it was all starting to feel distant, like the pain she felt was only a memory of something that had happened a long, long time ago. K2 could do nothing else, so she tried to laugh.  There was nothing humorous about her situation, no reason to try and laugh or smile.  But she knew sheâd never get the chance to do it again, so she tried. The result was a weak noise, far closer to the sound of crying than laughing.  She stared up at the exit door as her vision started to completely fade, watching as its inviting glow taunted her. If she had been better, she wouldâve walked out that door for another day.  She wouldâve been able to see her again.  Maybe she couldâve said goodbye, had she known this would happen. But she never got that chance. She failed, just like all the others. And, in turn, died like them. Fighting to her last breath.

Kill me.
Skoochy knew Xiao Mao was a nice enough girl, and under normal circumstances, he would have hated to see her die.Â
But this was war, and there were no normal circumstances here.Â
So when the Equalists told him to find the street urchin girl with just as many connections as he had and bring her in for interrogation, he didn't hesitate, despite his misgivings.
The worst part of all of it, really, was that she came willingly, thinking he was still a friend, not even realizing what was happening until the ropes were already bound around her wrists.
As he led her to the Lieutenant, it didn't occur to him that she wouldn't come out again. But when the Lieutenant came out and Xiao-Mao did not, he knew what had happened.
And even though he hadn't physically been there for her death, the memory of her smile, and her unconditional friendship, still haunted him for many years later.
