“ What do you want from me?” Plague sat up straight, genuine confusion contorting their face. 

Fury decided to pretend not to notice, resulting in her shrugging in response. 

She might have gotten away with it, if only the North American didn’t have the audacity to make their next statement. 

“ I came here to be alone,” Plague stated firmly. “ Whenever I left the room-that was me making it clear that I didn’t need anyone else bothering me.”

“ You didn’t need other people to bother you?” Fury began to scold them, her hands falling and smacking the table just hard enough that Plague withdrew themself just a little from the furniture. “ That’s the whole point of being a team-we all bother each other. But you? You try to consider yourself an exception and put in your two cents when you think it matters. Otherwise you want to be left alone, and for what fucking reason?” 

Plague’s lips tightened, their teeth grit which kept from saying anything; this they never understood because in moments when they grit their teeth, they found themself at a loss for words. Right now, the loss was worse than ever. 

“ Don’t have anything to say now, Sweetness?” Fury’s head tilted. Her eyes burned through the brunettes being, so much so that they gave up on the stare down and found a good spot on the floor to focus on.

 Eventually Fury gave up on the effort; she thought of something else she could have mentioned, something that might bring out the side of Plague she somehow brought out once before. But she had no more energy to put into the issue. Not this time. 

 “ Funny how that works...” She commented in a tone so sour, it sounded as if she were mourning something.
