E for Elderflower

I guess elderflower is not that famous in Asia than in Europe. I am a juice lover, that’s why I always love the fridge in Tesco, even though the variety of green tea and milk tea are like zero. My favorite: Apple & Elderflower juice! It’s just so tasty! The second love is Orange & Mango! haha. Miss them so bad~~

P for Perilla

It’s an Asian. How weird the first time we met was in London! It smells nice, it looks beautiful but not a big fan of tasting it. Never though green and purple would be a match. Rumor has it that Perilla helps to kill the bacteria more than wasabi when you are eating sashimi. Cool~compare to wasabi, i can live with perilla!

Q for Quassia Dont have that much study with quassia. It spreads in tropical countries, guess taiwan is not tropical enough for it to live. It can be extracted, wild uses in some treatments due to it antibacterial feature.

R for Rosemary

Rosemary, a very beautiful name with some intense smell and i like it very much. It’s a shame that we don’t use that much in our cuisine, its more like a foreign herb to us. Grandma’s garden happen to have rosemary growing like crazy, she place it next to the door and tell me that rosemary can scare off mosquitoes. haha that’s how it works in Taiwan. 

U for Upland cress

I first met with watercress was in a Japanese restaurant, my first job in London. They put it in the salmon hand roll, I must say, It’s pretty delicious. Unlike watercress needs to grow in water, upland cress will grow in almost any soil only need to be cool and damp. Ok, I am gonna plant some in my rooftop farm. Where can I get it in Taiwan? Anyone?
