That being said, you probably mean my Hunger games MMFF OCs and I have to confess that I don’t like enough of those to put them in a Top 5. Many of my Humger Games OC are either just... fine. Or their appeal is more in how they’re written than how I presented them. So... hear, for the first time, about some of my other random OCs I don’t talk about usually... I will try to keep them to a minimum lol

1. Lucy - Lucy is a character who went through a lot of phases way before I even met her. Funnily enough her very first iteration was actually a very nice, sweet, and not at all insane person with a huge focus on etiquette and diplomacy, and a tendency to solve problems through more subtle indirect means/sneakiness, but really nothing sinister about her. Gradually, she then evolved into her weirdass worldview and became a greyer character until I finally made her into the version I sent you, who, arguably, has nothing to do with her very first iteration. Of all these, some version of her is probably the character whos been with me the longest

2. Kester - of all my Steckbriefe that aren’t Lucy, the one I like most so far is Kester (i considered putting Phosphor on this list but that felt really weird considering the Inspiration (tm) lmao). He is a nice boy and I had a lot of fun writing him. Not to toot my own horn, but I think he has a lot of character (also he wont shut up in my mind, Kester I don't caaaaare xD) 3. Avery - This is another character with History (tm). Ironically, he kind of went through the opposite development process of Lucy where he started out actually a pretty sinister and villainous character, and then gradually turned into the literal angel we see in blank rune. I *love* how you portray him, Phi!

4. Pandora - Okay so basically she was in a scifi thing where she and a bunch of other people were created as artificial beings/kindof ai, kind of cyborgs on a planet that explicitly created people like her to be the lowest servant on the basis that it saw them as subhuman. She and a totally not gay for her, no sir, because Linda’s still in the closet Friend (tm) who was also in the lab with her were sold to aristocracy and then eventually ran away and formed a rebellion. They had a clash of ideology where Pandora thought the entire planet was irredeemable and doomed to oppression and wanted to blow up the entire fucking planet, and Fox (aforementioned Friend) wanted to do Rebellion and Reform. I think Fox murdered her in the end. I know there was this whole thing where Fox pretended to be her in public appearances because Pandora was not only like super frail and sickly, but also had agorophobia

5. Connor O’Brien - man as I was going through my old RP sheets, I remembered Connor and got really excited to tell you about him until I realized something that now is fucking HILARIOUS to me because i genuinely haven't noticed it before. But um. So connor. He has red hair and freckles. And a little sister he cares deeply about and wants to protect. And an evil mentor figure who wants to corrupt him into darkness. Have I mentioned that he can shapeshift into a bunny? i swear to you i am not making this up. 2013 rp logs exist. The OG bunny boy i am so embarrassed lmao. i genuinely didn't make the connection.... his sister is nothing like june, either. Plot twist though - he was a really nice kid who was awkward and sweet and a little naive. It was only his plot that was ridiculously edgelord because his evil mentor like forced him to kill other magicians to absorb their power and he had all this “I am a monster” drama where he was forced to do all these things through magical compulsion. RIP

I have a few other random weirdos I don't think I ever mentioned but.... yeah xD Sorry lol

Now about your next question - I’m assuming that I’m also not allowed to cite Blank Rune characters, right? That - tbh - leaves mostly just Areionverse characters, but I will do my best!

1. Jonathan Stone -  dropped your crown king. many have tried but none have surpassed you

2.  Trace Withney - remember when character arcs were a thing? I miss that. Shoutout for my boy Trace for having narratively consistent and satisfying development <3

3.  Arsinoe Marrha - she cut off her own ear, she was cool af, and she definitely deserved better

4.  Angus Colville - he is lower on the list because he got kind of more boring over the time, but that's not really his fault and more the writing style deteriorating me growing out of the style. Angus was super fun and it was really refreshing having a positive character in the mix

The Stillwater hasn't been used as an observatory in quite some time. Daniil hasn't asked exactly how long, as he doubts he would get a straight answer. But it's been long enough that Eva doesn't know how the building itself operates, and just shrugs at him when he asks her how. He guesses he's not surprised; Eva might be the type to stargaze, but she isn't the type to do things alone. There's only one or two people he can think of who might be interested in joining her, and he knows the one will never ask.

So he sits outside instead, socks tucked into his boots on the stone next to him, pant legs rolled to halfway up his calves, his feet in the shallow water of the pond out back. It isn't silent now, but there's a new sort of quiet - no screams, no moans. No more sick and dying. Just the murmur of footsteps on the main street, the buzz of bugs moving around in the trees.

And the crunch of boots on the ground behind him. Daniil smiles to himself, head ducked. He wasn't expecting anyone to come out and join him, but somehow he's unsurprised. He hears the person shifting as he speaks. "I'm glad you haven't left yet."

favorite thing about them This is going to make me sound like Eva on main but she’s soooo smart. I don’t always understand exactly what she’s talking about but yes queen keep telling me about those tripwires of fate. I’ll nod along and pretend to be following you.

least favorite thing about them And this will make me sound like Lara: Fatalism. Been down that road, had that depression. Too many people use it as an excuse not to act... Not a fan of it.

favorite line “An act leads to a habit; a habit leads to a character; a character leads to a conclusion.“ I like that it’s a subversion of “Sow an act, and you reap a Habit” line. It’s a small difference, but I think it characterizes her really well. It shows very simply how differently she thinks.

brOTP The Gay Table... I get that Yulia & Daniil interact in Classic in really interesting ways, both of them being more rational-minded, but I’m really looking forward to an explanation of how she got to being friends with the Stamatins. Please don’t hold out on us Dybowski, give us the weird interactions.

OTP I don’t have one specific one, I think she should have a polycule. It should be her with Eva and also Lara and also Aglaya and also Tyto (friend’s OC).

nOTP I’m sure Yulia/Daniil is out there somewhere and no thank you! Do not give that to use Dybowski. That is wlw/mlm solidarity.

random headcanon She’s not good at keeping plants alive. She just has terrible luck with them. She’s never had a pet either, for similar reasons.

unpopular opinion Both thankful that I don’t know any popular/unpopular opinions of her and a little bit scared of what might constitute a popular/unpopular opinion of Yulia. Ah... I like her Classic look more than her Patho 2 look, but I think that’s actually kind of a popular opinion... The 2 outfit can stay I guess but she should have pants and short hair.

XIX Die Sonne: Wie würdest du dich selbst in Blank Rune verhalten? Was wäre deine Strategie? Ich und Strategie? Ha... da überschätzt du mich aber mal gehörig... Ich glaube mal das würde hart von meiner Karte abhängen. Und hm... die Karten die für mich am schlimmsten wären (und das nehme ich mal als Prämisse wie die Spielmacher sie verteilen würden) wären entweder der Teufel oder der Gehängte. Ich gehe allerdings davon aus, dass der Teufel an eine Person gehen würde die auch kämpfen kann und damit den Hauch einer Chance hat die Teufelprämisse auch zu erfüllen. Für die Spannung und so. Das heißt ich hätte den Gehängten und... scheiße. Mit der ginge es mir wirklich nicht gut... Ich würde wohl versuchen mich so weit weg vom Wald fernzuhalten wie es geht... unter der Vorraussetzung dass ich weiß, was Gebo ist. Was wie wir wissen nicht selbstverständlich ist.

Thank you, Phi! For those who didn’t know, the Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin (starting with The Fifth Season) is actually my favorite series of all time! Slight spoilers below - these questions are difficult to answer without those!

Favorite character: Already such a difficult question. Ugh... I can’t answer with just one so this will actually be a tie between Alabaster and Essun. They’re both such amazing and well-developed characters, I refuse to pick between them! Essun is just so carefully constructed and built. She has so many layers and complexities to her. I love how flawed she is, and how the narrative isn’t afraid to hold her accountable for her actions. Yet, she’s also so sympathetic and truly a wonderful protagonist and such a strong character. Then, there’s also Alabaster, who I love. He’s such an intriguing and deeply tragic character who you can’t help but pull for - and I’m always drawn to mentor figures like this. 

Least Favorite character: Father Earth. I understand why this is there thematically, but I found the execution here a bit awkward and immersion breaking sometimes. 

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Broken Earth isn’t exactly a series that I think lends itself to shipping a lot, I would say, so I’ll just name one here. I really like the Syenite/Innon/Alabaster triad that develops. It’s just a piece of happiness that I find really lovely. 

Character I find most attractive: I don’t really know? I didn’t really have a crush on any of the characters or anything. 

Character I would marry: Out of all available options, I think I’d chose Tonkee. She’s just really interesting and I love the way she approaches things. 

Character I would be best friends with: Innon! He’s just a great guy. 

A random thought: I would love to get maybe a short story collection set in this world - there’s so much lore, worldbuilding and history there and i would love to see it tbh. So many settings I’d like to spend more time in - especially the Fulcrum.

An unpopular opinion: I love the use of the second person perspective!

My canon OTP: I’ll go with Syenite/Innon/Alabaster again

Non-canon OTP: Alabaster/happiness and therapy

Most badass character: This series is completely filled to the brim with badass characters. I could name any of the main characters, Essun, Hoa, Alabaster - but I think the most badass character might actually be Nassun. If you know you know. 

Pairing I am not a fan of: I don’t really care for Essun/Lerna

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I don’t think Jemisin really screwed any of the characters - she’’s an amazing writer - but if I had to chose one character who I feel like could be kind of improved, I’d say Nassun.

when or if I started shipping it: Yeah the character sheet was more than enough for that. Shoutout to @kalanadi for that one. I love the way it’s presented there - it’s really great how they were managed to convey it. But that’s not all! @herania ‘s writing is so vivid and clever and amazing at portraying them, making it so emotional

my thoughts: God, I think their relationship is both really tragic and really powerful. I love the bond that they have, and the love that keeps burning within them despite all (external and internal) roadblocks that are put into their way. 

What makes me happy about them: Their trust in each other and their easy intimacy. Tthe way they can work together so well and naturally. Also just their banter^^

What makes me sad about them: That they get so little time together :(

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: this isn’t really applicable lol
