In a car crash, Kaye’s parents died instantly. She was safe but her parents are gone and now, she doesn’t have anyone to call family. After the funeral, she goes home and stares at her bedroom ceiling, thinking what she will do with her life. She has lost her will to live because of what happened and it’s really breaking her heart. Kaye thinks that she should’ve died together with them so she shouldn’t have to feel alone and miserable.
She cries and cries until every last drop of tears streams down on her face. She cannot stand the pain anymore; she doesn’t want to live anymore. Kaye stands up, goes to her kitchen and takes her knife and goes to the bathroom. She decided to cut her wrist so the pain inside her heart will drown. As she was about to cut her wrist, someone knocked at her door. Amused by the great timing, she stands up and opens her door. She looks down and sees a basket, she thinks that it’s another care package from the neighbors, so she takes it inside and closes her door. There’s a letter that is written weirdly but she notices and realizes that it came from someone she knows.
Five years later, she goes to Greece and visits her old best friend. She happily updates him about her life after her parents died and how his care package changed everything. She said that it stopped her from giving up. Her friend is very confused because he positively did not send her a care package and just found out that her parents died two years ago.
Kaye looks at her friend in confusion, takes out the letter from her bag and reads it again.
Loving you from afar. dreaming that
One day i will see you again.
Very far, but always here.
sending my regards and love to YOU.
Kaye runs toward her hotel room and cries again as she realizes what the letter means. If she will read it once, she would instantly assume that it came from her best friend, Jude but as she reads it again, she remembers her childhood days. Way before her family transferred to New York, in a small city, there was a church her family loves. One time, her Sunday School teacher asked them to make a unique name for Jesus that they will always remember. She chose, “My J”.
“I love you, your J,” Kaye reads aloud and cries so hard.
