I am DEEPLY interested in your interpretation of Joel’s hels. Is he based on Joel overall or s11 Joel specifically? Also how’d he and come to live with Ren and Cleo’s hels?
So, not all of the hels are like big and powerful like district leaders. I think 7 out of every one of them are, so the rest just kinda??? Work! I don’t know a lot about Joel, nor are ANY hels based specifically off of a certain version of anyone, but I do love his knack for storytelling, especially through skin changes and whatnot (why he’s typically coupled with Ren’s hels). So I gave him a role in the district propaganda things and their little group of three work for district leaders often to prepare events, speeches, and visuals for public appearances.
As far as Vaunt goes, he revolves around a lot of the visual stuff (posters, videos, interesting small builds). But like any hels, they often use their work to get away with other things. So, their group tends to snoop around, steal things whenever they go to different districts, and even get people OUT of certain districts via all kinds of deals. They work very closely with the upper folks of Hels, so they’re able to use it generously.
I don’t have a solid history of how they came together, but I like to imagine they grew pretty close because they all got recognized individually for certain skills and were put together so often they realized they all live in the Depths and made their own joint company. They all love sheer entertainment and when they’re not working, chances are they’re performing in small shows and other events and whatnot.
Trust, they all are great at bending the truth just a bit. They’re so in sync it’s hard to get any of them to crack under pressure
