Pain isn’t fun for any of us, and our furry friends are no exception. September is Animal Pain Awareness Month - In hopes to educate and inform pet owners about animal discomfort. The goal is to help pet owners learn about their pets’ health and well-being when it comes to pain management, be it acute or chronic pain. This can greatly improve their quality of life. Often our pets suffer in silence. It happens and we have to educate ourselves on some of the signs. ✔ Agitation ✔ Cry out, yelp or growl ✔ Sensitivity to touch or resent normal handling ✔ Become grumpy and snap at you ✔ Be quiet, less active, or hide ✔ Limp or be reluctant to walk / difficulty standing ✔ Become depressed and stop eating ✔ Rapid, shallow breathing & an increased heart rate ✔ Excessive grooming ✔ Loss of appetite ✔ Reluctant to go up or down stairs or go onto certain surfaces such as slippery floors Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? Generalized Pain is not always associated with senior pets! Pay very close attention to subtle changes in behavior. #septembertoremember #painawarenessmonth #helpingpetsthrive #paininyourpets #giverelief #findrelief #painmanagement #knowthesymptoms #petparent #lovemydog #unconditionallove #gratefulheart https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ewAVsHbeS/?igshid=1kgv3qnorhm1i
