This poor little soul is Blossom. She came to Pick Your Paw Rescue from one of the Carolinas. She has a non-contagious mange caused by the demodex mite. Unfortunately, someone decided to self medicate with baths of vegetable oil. Her skin started to get secondary infections, causing oozing and a lot of pain. She was then dropped off at a shelter. When she arrived to NJ and PYP she had a temperature of 103 (high normal for a canine is 102.5) and a dull mentation. Luckily the amazing staff at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital hooked her up and she is on the road to health. These pictures are day one, which would have bee last Thursday.
