Hiya! Having trouble study and sick of “Life hack”ing the ever loving shit out of your studying? Well, your local psychology major who’s studying for her final psychology exam is here! If you have any tips on studying of course leave them below, but I’ve listed some scientific, albeit theoretical in the psychological community, ways we remember things and how to use this to our advantage.
Just making your notes “pretty” and/or just cramming will not work do not kill me studyblr community.
Hope it helps! Like i said, feel free to drop more tips you’ve learned or grown accustomed to below. Okay, time for me to stop procrastinating studying APUSH :’)
Study Tips
Hey everyone!
I myself am in exam season, as well as many other students. Exams can be very stressful on your mental health, which is why study tips to ease your mind and stress can be very valuable. Below, I've included some tips that I find useful. Best of luck!
1. Create an Effective Study Space - Where you study is a very important factor regarding how well you study. I like to study at a kitchen table, or a clean desk, where I am sitting upright and there is enough room for me to lay out all my stuff.
2. Print out your notes - This can be a lot of paper and may seem very overwhelming when you first see them all, but highlighting the important material and writing notes next to them can make a huge difference.
3. Time your study breaks - I usually like to study anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half, and then take a 15 minute break. By timing these study periods and breaks, you can ensure you are using your time wisely.
4. Compile all your resources and Break it into Sections - Make sure you have all your work in front of you so that you aren’t missing anything, and split it up into sections so you are not overwhelmed by the content. Take it step by step!
5. Use cue cards or online cue cards - Cue cards can be very helpful for memorization, and make sure to include examples so that you are understanding and not just memorizing. A super helpful resource for this is Quizlet.
