Advice wanted
So, I'm considering writing a novel. Two, actually. See, I'm an Australian country bisexual girl, with gay friends who are also as country as they could be, and we are noticing a big gap in the media for people like us. Yes, there's a lot of 'rural romances' - for straight people. I haven't found one that's actually for the LGBTQ+ community.
I'm planning at least one for us bi gals, one for gay or bi guys, something dealing with being on the ace spectrum, maybe more. Those are the things I have close personal experience with, either myself or close friends and family, so I think I'm best writing those for now. I've got a bit of a plot in mind, started a rough draft, and obviously a published novel is a LONG way off, but I'm getting there around other projects.
I've got a family friend who is a published author of this genre, a very successful one at that, and she floated the idea of me writing these novels to her publisher, and they're tentatively interested but unsure that there is a market for the books.
The question is, would any of you guys read them?? Obviously they're going to be Australian-centric, but the themes will hopefully carry across internationally.
