All day I’ve been researching the bushfires happening in Australia, and I just can’t get them out of my mind. I want to help and thought perhaps hosting another charity auction to raise money for the cause could be a good place to start.

hello everyone! I quickly doodled this koala mama and her baby to make a post to raise awareness for the Australia bush fires. Please please please donate if you can! However, if you don’t have money to donate there’s more you can do!! You can spread the word by sharing this post (and others), like/share posts that vow to donate for every like, and sign off on petitions to help stop climate change! If you live in Australia you can set up water stations around your area for stranded and tired animals and keep checking the news or the organizations below to check on those severely affected. CALLING HARRINGROVE  CONTENT CREATORS -- Australia is burning. We can help.

This is a bit daunting for me but we’ve all been reblogging Dacre’s appeal for help because of the devastating fires in Australia and it got me thinking -- harringrove, as a fandom, came together and made it happen last year for RAICES. We can do it again, for Australia. Let’s answer Dacre’s call for help and create fanworks in the process.

So many people have reached out to us, asking how they can lend a hand to people in bush fire affected areas, as well as our volunteers. There are a number of ways you can help. The best way is to donate money. This allows people to buy the things they need, and it supports local businesses which have also been impacted. We know many people want to donate physical items such as food and clothing but these take up much needed community space. There are a number of funds which have been established to support those affected by the bush fires. These include: -Australian Red Cross Disaster Recovery and Relief -Salvation Army Disaster Appeal -St Vincent de Paul Society Bushfire Appeal (NSW)

To participate in the drive as a content creator, send me a message you want to contribute your fic or art or videos etc. in exchange for donations.

I’ll keep content creator sign-ups open until 12:00AM EST Jan. 17, 2020.

Once sign-ups are closed, there will be a week where creators will advertise your services in exchange for donations i.e. bids. For fic, I’d set your rate at $1 per 100 words of fic. So for $5 a donor can get a 500 word story, $10 for a 1,000 word story etc. You just have to set your own personal cap because you’ll just have a month and a half to write your fics or draw your art etc. So don’t over extend yourself! Donors can certainly also choose to donate a larger amount for less fic.

You will be able to dictate a max amounts of words you can complete and what kind of fic you’d like to write or art you’re willing to create and whether or not you’ll take prompts (you can state what you will/won’t write/draw, ratings you’ll do, etc). There will be a set template post for advertising your goods.

Also you can double dip with @harringroveweekoflove ! Were you already planning on contributing to HWOL? You can tag your posts on Tumblr with #harringroveforAustralia in ADDITION to #harringroveweekoflove. There will be a harringrove for Australia collection on ao3 and you can add more than 1 collection on a post, so you have 1 post in 2 collections! In your advertisement post, you can throw in which HWOL prompts you’d be willing to do (NOTE: HWOL has strict posting dates - please adhere to them)!

Once the bids are closed, it will be up to you write the fic or draw the art you’ve agreed to provide in exchange for donations. This will be between you and the donor. The donors will then send you screenshots of confirmation of donation for the agreed upon amounts. Creators will then report donations to me.

Notes: with her permission, I borrowed this format and most of this post from @flippyspoon , who did this last Aug/Sept for #harringrove for RAICES, so thanks for that flippy! 

This will be limited to Harringrove fandom in the interest of keeping things simple. But no big rules on content otherwise i.e. someone can request a ficlet that’s just about Max and Billy bonding etc. It doesn’t have to strictly be Harringrove-centric.

If you’re like me, you’re following the bushfires in Australia with an overwhelming feeling of devastation. I’m over here in rural Missouri, and I have never seen a disaster on the scale of what’s currently destroying an entire continent, ecosystem, and countless lives. 

I’m not able to personally donate right now - I have $12 in my bank account exactly. But here’s something I can do:

So, from now until 11:59 pm EST on January 27th, I am opening ficlets and drabbles for donations to a charity (of your choosing) geared towards helping Australia and bushfire relief. 

To get a fic:

Reblog this post (or send an ask or a message, but reblogs will boost and get more attention) with how much you’d like to donate for how many words of fic you want. 

The suggested donation is $1 per 100 words - so $7 for 700, etc. If you’d like to donate more for a lesser amount of words, I certainly won’t stop you! 

I will only be writing short fics for this, so I’ll be capping each fic at 5,000 words (give or take the muse, of course). As of right now, these will remain open until January 27th with a cap of 50,000 words total (in addition to Harringrove for Australia). If it turns out I have spare time and these are popular, I may extend the deadline and word-cap.

After I have responded to your reblog/ask/message and given you the go-ahead, please make your donation, take a screenshot, and mark out any personal or identifying information you don’t want me to see. Then submit it to my blog. 

Once I’ve got your submitted proof, I will start writing! Fics for this will be completed and posted on ao3 by March 14th, 2020. (Though honestly, I’ll probably start working on them immediately.)

What do you write? Everything! Fluff, smut, humor, angst, hurt/comfort - I write it all. I always try to have a happy ending (or at least a hopeful one, not a bad one). I’m accepting prompts, but I do reserve the right to change a prompt or reject it if I’m not comfortable with the content, so please make sure you talk to me about it before you donate! If you’d like smut, please be over the age of 18. If you just want a fic and don’t have a prompt, that’s fine - you can just pick a fandom or pairing, or just say “hey, here’s $5, write something!”
