❛❛ It’s okay. I’ve got you. ❜❜
Fuyumi hadn’t exactly planned to get jumped on the way home from work.
Although it was only around five o’clock, the sun was rapidly sinking in the sky- a sign of the approaching darkness. The early nights had always been something that Fuyumi hated about the winter, and even now as an adult she detested walking home alone when it was getting dark. So she was walking briskly, glancing at her watch every now and then. She hoped to get home relatively soon so she could make dinner and just go to sleep. She had marking to do, but staying to help out after school with one of the extracurricular activities had drained her, and she figured she could do it over the weekend since it was Friday.
She turned down the side street that would lead more or less directly to her house, glad to nearly be home. The road wasn’t busy, but there were a few cars and people milling around, so she wasn’t too worried. Until she felt a clawed hand reach out and grab her, that is.
She was tightly in the villain’s grip before she even had a chance to use her quirk. She began to struggle in panic, kicking her legs in an attempt to land a hit somewhere. She managed to escape his arms for a brief moment and prepared to attack him with her ice. Before she could however, a mist began to spread around her. She was finding it hard to breath- her lungs and skin felt like they were burning. Her legs gave out and soon she was gasping for breath on the ground.
I-Is this a gas quirk..? An acid quirk? Are there two of them? Or is it the quirk of the one who grabbed me? H-How do I get out of this?
Just when she thought she couldn’t take anymore, she was suddenly able to gasp in a deep breath of air. She opened her eyes, her vision blurry. She could barely see anything, but her body didn’t feel like it was being burnt anymore, and she could finally breathe again. She felt like she could hardly move but she tried to look around, confused.
Until she heard the voice behind her.
”It’s okay. I’ve got you.”
”…D-D-Dad…?”
Her voice barely sounded like her own. She finally felt tears begin to run down her face, irritating the already stinging skin. She tried to move in the direction of his voice but her body wouldn’t co-operate.
”D-Dad..”
