@helluvaflames sent: “Is there a reason you’ve been following me for an hour?” (Velvette to Vaggie)
Vaggie barely kept herself from rolling her remaining eye at the question. Of course, Velvette hadn't been informed of who she was and what her role was. This wasn't the first time this happened. To tell the whole truth, it seemed to be the normalcy. She had lost count of how many times she had been forced to introduce herself to people who should have already known.
She had come to the conclusion that it had to be part of the "trial period" Vox had said she would have to go through before getting a proper open-ended contract for the position she had been offered. What she couldn't figure out was what the Overlord was trying to obtain with that bullshit.
...Maybe it was a test to see if she could control her temper. Screenface had mentioned that during the job interview. Well, joke's on him, because she had been forged into a soldier, she could hold her anger back. ...Most of the time, at least.
"I'm your security detail for the day, ma'am," she answered in a flat tone, even if her expression betrayed a good deal of annoyance. "Apologies, I thought Mr. Vox had informed you of my presence."
That was a huge lie, but Velvette couldn't have known it.
"I didn't want to interfere with your business, so I was trying to keep my distance while also doing my job."
