i really do like that helena is Exactly the evil soulsucking POS we met in season one, while season two firmly establishes that she's Also a deeply lonely, neurotic, insecure, sad little freak. most powerful woman in the corporate american world splits her actual literal mind in half so she can torture her shadow twin to get daddy's approval. IMMEDIATELY gets rampantly jealous of the shadow twin because the other people in torture hell are nice to her, even though shadow twins SUCK, and helena is BETTER, and also helena wouldn't like her shadow twin because she doesn't like herself so why is anyone being nice. then she decides the only possible solution is to fuck the shadow twin's boyfriend just to feel something. because nobody has ever wanted to fuck HER like that. and it's not FAIR. this is the most powerful woman in corporate america. this woman is a billionaire. this woman has probably been on the cover of TIME magazine. the boyfriend is just some random kinda awkward and nice dude whose actor was cast because he's the most Generic Middle-American Lookin' Guy you've ever seen in your life.

I think I could fix helena eagan almost exactly the same way I could make her worse. All helena needs is love and (more importantly) forgiveness, and she will be better in time. Lumon and her family dont love and they dont forgive, and so by giving her the only thing shes ever wanted for herself, you could eventually coax her free.
