#hello varanu

mini Varanu has remained completely obsessed with The Hobbit since we finished it. today he said he wished there were a HUNDRED Hobbit books, and I made the fatal error of mentioning Lord of the Rings... anyway after much begging we're now like three scenes into the birthday chapter?? we've just encountered Gandalf and mini Varanu was SO excited and i was just like, wait, Gandalf's going to fall off a cliff and die. fuck. this is the dumbest mistake i have ever made in my life.

hobbit update: dwarves have reached Mirkwood. mini varanu is spending every day pretending to be either Bilbo (nice guy, sneaky) or the Great Goblin (mean guy, needs to be chased). giant spiders tomorrow >:)

mini Varanu has a fever, blah. hopefully it's not covid. or the flu. we were literally two days from finishing his covid sequence and three days from his flu shot.

sitting here agonizing over the ambush i’m gonna hit my players with tomorrow like.... should i hit them with two spiders or three spiders or four spiders? i know they can beat two spiders (plus other stuff), so that’s probably too easy, but i’m worried four spiders will kill them? but for some reason my heart balks at hitting them with three spiders. it’s unaesthetic.
