There’s a handsized spider in my room and my dad lost sight of it. I’m going to die.
Kind of in a vulnerable internal panic right now because of the storm approaching.
Tornadoes have always been a distant fear - one that I'm on top of and can even appreciate and like tornadoes when I'm living a continent away from that kind of weather and don't have to worry about it.
But now with a summer of tornado watches and warnings I'm on the verge of a panic attack. What if I'm not home when one hits - what if it rips the building up and carries Merlin somewhere I can't save him? What if he's lost forever? What if I get hurt and he's scared and alone while this horrible storm bears down on him? What if I lose everything?
People are posting about the tornado that ripped up a small town yesterday and I find myself hyperventilating and crying every time I think about tornadoes and Merlin and what I'm going to do in the event of one and just blindly hoping there ISN'T one. And wondering why the hell I moved back to a tornado prone state when I forgot how paralyzed afraid I used to get when tornado warnings happened growing up. Except this time I don't have my parents to assure me it's ok, I'm going to be ok, the cat is going to be ok, my stuff is going to be ok. This time I have to depend on me and I'm having a very difficult time with that right now.
