The nail pointed to the Festival of Transport so I visited it with my dad yesterday.
It started in 1976, born from the Eastbourne Historic Vehicle club.
My mum said she used visit it every August Bank Holiday as it is my Grandad’s favourite event, so it was nice to experience it.
This was my favourite vehicle exhibited. I particularly liked that the owner had kept the old advert posters for it as it helped me place the car in a context; something I couldn’t really do with everything else exhibited there. Anything that had something to read or view was definitely a plus for those like me who didn’t really know much about the vehicles there.
These small posters really made me think how differently cars are advertised nowadays, with sexiness, seriousness and innovative technology being the key factors of their design, when comedy and wit where such a key feature them back then.
