EVEN WHEN CONSTANTINE POPS BY UNANNOUNCED , it’s never a truly a surprise . at this point viktor has grown accustomed to the odd times he pops by and simply offers an open door . what he hasn’t  grown used to are the moments his friend appears at his apartment RUGGED and BLOODY .

he had ascended the narrow stairs to his floor with little acknowledgement to the things around him . he’s far more focused on figuring out future lesson plans and dinner than anything else . that’s all washed away when his gaze raises from creaky floors to the man giving him a crooked , bloody smile , barely held up against the wall .

THE  ANSWER  IS  GLARINGLY  EVIDENT  TO  JILL.  no  matter  how  lethal  someone  fully  infected  with  the  t-virus  is,  the  monsters  making  the  monsters  are  in  a  league  of  their  own.  even  with  the  horrors  they’re  facing  in  the  streets  being  entirely  incidental  in  terms  of  the  city-wide  outbreak  that’s  ravaging  everything  jill  had  come  to  refer  to  as  home,  the  fact  that  the  technology  that  engineered  this  was  done  intentionally  is  enough  to  make  her  blood  run  cold.  having  a  two  month  head  start  on  the  horror  show  is  hardly  enough;  even  with  full  knowledge  on  the  t-virus  and  how  it  infects  and  mutates  the  living,  it  barely  scratches  the  surface  of  everything  umbrella  has  developed  up  to  this  point,  and  there’s  no  telling  what’s  out  roaming  free  until  they  come  face-to-face  with  it.

❛   the  score  with  the  infected  is  pretty  consistent.   ❜          she  can’t  bring  herself  to  call  them  zombies;  they’ve  been  dealt  the  cruelest  hand,  the  victims  of  this  entire  atrocity  being  the  quiet  librarians,  the  kind-hearted  shopkeepers,  even  the  unsuspecting  children,  sentenced  to  a  fate  worse  than  death.  pulling  the  trigger  never  gets  easier,  but  jill  does  it  for  more  than  just  her  own  survival      —      a  swift  death  is  a  kindness  that  can  be  afforded  to  few,  what  with  ammo  being  in  short  supply.
