AGREED 100% >:D
little update for my followers
Sorry if I’ll be offline these days i just got to Hong Kong but I’ll try to keep my blog posted!
That particular brand of sculptable plastic stuff isn’t available in my country apparantly, but I found a similar product called Fantastic Plastic which even has colour pigment additives available! It was a bit expensive cos it only comes in really huge bulk packs, 500g plastic plus the pigment pack was £30. That’s pretty great considering how long this will probably last!
I’d love to have a go at making little figures and charms of my favourite pokemon characters, and I also just think it’d be great as a stim tool for me. All the mouldable reshapeable fun of clay without the mess, and without needing a special oven if you want to fire the results! I know there’s a lot of figurine clay which is advertised as being able to be cooked in a normal oven but I never feel quite comfortable with that, it seems a bit dangerous. Plus you need a really clean oven to avoid getting any sort of food dust or cloudy texture on the clay, and I’m a lazy ass who scrubs this thing maybe once a year, lol! Being able to solidify it in water instead is far more practical for home craft projects, cos that way I can supervise it and not have to worry about anything going wrong. And if it does, I can just reheat and remould it- so cool!! I guess I’ll have to test if the stuff is prone to melting in normal heat though- it’d suck if I used it for cosplay accessories and then a mildly humid sunny day means it turns to gloop all over my face XD
But hmm for now its just yeah... grab plastic mouldy thing, make shoddy amateur Team Galactic figures, and now my life is complete XD It sucks that they never had any merchandise, I wish we got more figures of game characters rather than just the anime ones and the pokemon themselves. (And even then, we never get the anime villains either...) I haven’t messed around with clay since high school though, so it’ll probably take ages to learn how to make something half decent. And I dunno what clayworking tools can be used with this, or how different it is to regular plastecine... This is gonna be so much fun!!!
