ITS SO SO SO GOOD . most repressed guy in the entire world who meanders around for 800 pages being miserable (for good reason, but still) and managing to get tangled up in homosexuality and international incidents and fraud. it is the best book I've read in a long time and theo decker is the best fictional character in the whole world it's like they made him for ME specifically. guy who notably fixates on pathetic self hating psuedointellectual suicidal repressed gay men with substance use problems. ANyway yeah the goldfinch is incredibly and beautifully written with deeply moving characters and plot. I'd put it on par with east of eden to be honest. Except Theo decker is there which makes it better

Comprati e venduti a chi offriva di più all'asta. Sei sommerso di rimpianti. Ti insegnano ad accettare che il tuo mondo è in debito con chi offre di più all'asta. Non posso controllare ciò che il mio cuore dice alla mia testa, se il mio cuore dice alla mia testa che deve distruggere tutto quello che trova nel suo cammino, perché il mio amore staccherà la tua piccola testolina dal proprio collo. Sei sommerso di rimpianti. Ti insegnano ad accettare che il tuo mondo è in debito con chi offre di più all'asta. Ufficiale, no ufficiale no... Tagliategli la testa.
