as a spider admirer, i'm also the world's #1 defeatist when one i want to photograph wanders off into leaf litter or a dense bush, especially if it's a jumper. so i was pretty surprised when i grabbed the plant this baby Heliophanus was on and instead of pulling the aforementioned technique it just climbed onto my finger and gazed thoughtfully into the distance instead

Heliophanus auratus (pol. Lśniś złocisty)
The page iNaturalist has helped me ID some of the spiders I've seen in my house so far and I wanted to thank you for showing that resource some time ago. Here are some of them (all from Spain):
Heliophanus cupreus (the left photo has super low quality because of the window, but you can see the yellow palps and I just love it)
Menemerus semilimbatus (the most common jumping spider I see around here)
Steatoda grossa (all I see are -I think- males like this one, although I might have seen females and thought they were a different species)
Xysticus cristatus (this one was descending from the ceiling like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, second time I almost slap a spider in my room because of that)
I’m so glad you’ve found it useful! It’s pretty invaluable for IDing. I think you’ve got the right genus for the first jumper, but I wouldn’t feel confident about saying Heliophanus cupreus personally. There’s a lot of overlap with markings in that genus in your area. But the other ones look correct! And I love them all :)

the whitest Heliophanus i've ever seen hopped around from leaf to leaf for a bit, seemingly unaware of my presence. definitely not my usual experience with these jumpers who are either very curious about you or very unwilling to be anywhere nearby, but i'll take an oblivious individual over an antisocial one

i accidentally spooked this Heliophanus into leaving his shelter underneath the smallest oak leaf to ever exist. he walked around having an existential crisis for a bit before finally settling down and letting himself be photographed
i hung out with him for a while because i kept expecting him to teleport away but he wouldn't take his eyes off me. bit clingy to be honest
