That Helicopter Pilot Guy
I work in tech support over the phone. Two years ago, I talked to a guy, and was relaying some information using the phonetic alphabet. He immediately asked me if I was a pilot. I wasn’t - I’d learned the phonetic alphabet as a tool to help me in tech support. *But* this was days before I’d scheduled my discovery flight/first flight lesson. I confessed that I wasn’t a pilot but that I wanted to be, and told him about my plans. He was a helicopter pilot, and assured me I was going to love it and wished me luck.
I never wrote down his name, but I always imagined him calling back and just happening to get me so I could tell him I’d done it, got my licence, and am working on my commercial licence. I never really thought it would actually happen, but today it did. He called, I got him, and the email address triggered my memory, so I checked the call records and it was him. It was pretty cool to get to update him on where I was.
gut bus extreme is not for everyone... especially the helicopter guy. haha enjoy :)
