Leo gazed down at the rather massive canvas leaning against the wall, carefully surrounded by piles of linens to where the portrait would both be out of sight and safe from accidentally being destroyed when Helena so clearly had spent a significant amount of time on it. It truly had been months since Leo had last seen the portrait, and then it had only been a work in progress that he only managed to get glimpses of, from the beginning in Venice when Leo was far too drunk from the party or over the next moth leading to their break at Christmas when Helena would work on the portrait in his apartment, often with paint smeared over her skin and frequently shooing Leo away when he would sneak in to distract her with kisses or his smooth words. And of course, now the painting looked far different, portraying Leo with the same erotic dramatics that anyone would expect from Helena, but it still felt incredibly strange for him, seeing the Leo in the portrait as someone entirely foreign and separate from himself even though they looked the same.

"You've done quite a bit of work since we last left off... couldn't keep me off of your mind long enough, prinzessin?" Leo teased, turning his focus back to Helena after being distracted by the portrait for a moment. Leo at least secretly liked the idea of himself being permanently stuck in Helena's head after she left him, unable to truly move on from Leo. After all, even with his constant pursuit to forget her through his countless bad choices, he still found himself praying that he wouldn't find Helena happy with some other guy, some dull French aristocrat or even worse another former lover who had treated her even worse than Leo had, like Louis. Leo had a terrible habit of being possessive over Helena as she was one of his few major weaknesses in life.

"Come on, then. I'll be useful and help you hang it," Leo said, reaching down and carefully grabbing the portrait to take it out to her dressing room where she wanted the painting placed to both be put on view but kept in relative secrecy and intimacy. "Are you sure this is where you want my face staring down at you?" Leo asked, glancing back at Helena from where he looked up at the empty space on the wall between the two closets. "At least until it winds up at auction someday and the entire world loses its mind," Leo said with a chuckle, just imagining the scandal and drama that hardly seemed like that big of deal after all of the /other/ scandals he had been through just in the past few months.
