he  isn't  entirely  sure  how  it  had  all  happened .  Denki  supposes  that  was  what  he  got  for  running  headlong  into  danger .  having  ignored  every  order  to  stay  behind .  to  let  the  pros  handle  it .  yet  the  only  thing  the  blond  could  see  were  the  faces  of  crying  children  as  their  parents  were  tended  to .  he  couldn't  say  that  he  wouldn't  be  in  the  same  position .  he  was  sure  that  his  siblings  would  be  upset  if  this  was  his  end .  at  least  his  sisters . 

that  would  have  been  the  very  moment  that  he  had  given  pause  and  let  down  his  guard .  the  briefest  moment  of  regret  seeping  in  and  allowing  the  villain  to  over power  him .  and  leaving  him  in  his  current  position . 

Denki  has  no  idea  how  long  he'd  been  chained  up .  wires  pressed  against  his  flesh  to  keep  any  sort  of  electricity  from  building  up . he  doesn't  remember  a  time  when  he  felt  so  exhausted .  holding  up  his  head  had  long  since  become  more  than  impossible , keeping  it  lolled  against his arm . stomach  had  given  up  growling  hours --- days ? --- ago , only  camping  painfully  now . 

he  just  wanted  to  go  home .  never  before  had  Denki  thought  that  he  would  miss  school .  that  he  would  miss teachers .  of  course , he  missed  his  friends --- but  the  creeping  anxiety  kept  him  wondering  if  they  missed  him . 

sleep  had  crept  in  and  dragged  him  under , though  the  sound  of  footsteps  had  him  waking  slowly .  body  still  attempting  to  protect  him  though  he  had  no  energy  to  do  so .  hands  on  his  face  catch  him  off  guard ,  dull  gold  dragging  open .  blinking  slowly , he  attempts  to  focus  on  the  form  before  him .  however ,  it's  not  until  a  voice  is  offered  that  he  realizes  who  is  before  him. 

               ' I'm  here -- I'm  here  now . ' 

entire  body  sags  into  the  tentative  hold , that  deep  and  alluring  voice  calling  too  him  like  the  siren  he  was . a  breath  leaves  him  as  raw  wrists  are  freed  finally , hissing  softly  as  they're  wrapped  in  something . weak  arms  curl  about  the  taller  teen's  neck , unable  to  stop  the  pathetic  rush  of  emotion  that  surges  forward . yet , his  body  is  far  too  exhausted  to  do  much  more  than  shake  and  heave . 

     " come  here  often ? " 

a  pathetic  excuse  of  lightening  the  dark  mood , it  rings  hallow  without  his  usual  cheek  to  color  the  words . filthy  fingers  grip  tightly  at  Hitoshi's  shirt , unwilling  to  release  him  for  anything . 

          " I'm  sorry ... " 

there  is  a  part  of  him  that  knows  he  should  just  go ,  this  was  a  test  and  it  had  slowly  become  every  man  for  himself .  yet  the  blond  wasn’t  about  to  play  that  game .  Aizawa  be  damned .  Hitoshi’s  leg  was  bent  at  a gory  angle  and  he  knew  that  the  other  needed  to  get  to  Recovery  Girl .  Kaminari  wasn’t  the  smartest  kid  in  the  class , but  he  knew  damn  well  that  arguing  with  the  other  teen  wouldn’t  get  him  anywhere .  not  to  mention  if  Hitoshi  got  desperate  enough  to  stick  to  his  martyr  bullshit  he  would  just  mind  control  him  into  leaving . 

so  for  once  in  Denki’s  life  he  keeps  his  mouth  shut . no  longer  giving  the  indigo  teen  a  choice  in  the  matter .  

perhaps  he  would  fail  the  test ,  but  he  wouldn’t  have  to  deal  with  the  self  imposed  guilt  of  leaving  a  friend  behind .  he  would  rather  die  trying  than  leave  someone  to  an  undetermined  fate .  so  Hitoshi  could  be  mad  at  him  later .  for  now  he  had  the  taller  boy’s  arms  dragged  over  his  shoulders , forcing  him  into  an  awkward  sort  of  piggy  back .  

for  now  he  just  has  to  focus  on  getting  them  both  to  the  med  tent  and  accepting  his  failed  mark .
